The type of door handles may be a deal breaker for us. I've lost count of the number of handles we've replaced on our 2012 MS. Drivers door, again, in the past 12 months. I'm getting really worried about the extended warranty expiring at the end of 2020. Please, please go with manual handles vs. the MS retractable.

I drive an old Model S too. By now all door handles where changed once. Since then I had no more issues with them. They solved the Problem.
