One of the first things I plan on doing when I receive my CT (hopefully next week) will be to tint the front driver and passenger windows. I know that factory tinting is a different process than having someone at a tint shop do it. What's the best method/material to achieve the best results? I've seen some horrible tint jobs with air bubbles and am hoping those were just at-home jobs the owner of the vehicle messed up on. My desire to drive an expensive vehicle with a shitty tint job remains low on my priority list.

Find a tent shop that has a lifetime warranty. Consider tinting the rear windows as well because the new films out there block radian heat and then of course you want to tent those small triangle windows in the A pillars. I was suggest darkest tint on those.

I went with a local wrap/tint shop that installed Xpel XR Plus. Unfortuantely I found some bubbles on the windshield tint and one of the rear windows after the recommended curing period and procss. They're going to replace it free of charge with a lifetime warranty.

I'd recommend doing some research on a few companies close to you and see what they say for their quality of service, warranty, etc.

I've had 2 or more cars each with 3m crystalline and xpel prime XR plus and I greatly prefer the xpel for heat rejection. I went with xpel prime XR plus for my ct. it's a little bit bluer in hue than xpel prime XR, and the stock rear tint is slightly browner in comparison, but I picked it specifically because I like the blue and because I don't really look out through the rear windows much while I'm driving (naturally).

agree completely with @getsometom that you should look up some reviews and pick a reputable installer

I also went with XPEL tint for my windows. I tinted all the windows for privacy and heat rejection purposes. Find a reputable tint installer and all should be fine. My friend with a CT only tinted the front windows and there is a noticeable difference in heat when sitting in the front versus rear seats. I highly recommend tint for your rears as well.

How much of the windshield did you tint? I'm not sure if the laws in all states are the same for windshield tinting. Can you share a pic of how the windshield looks with the tint?
