While out and about yesterday, I came across a doe and two very fresh fawns. This truck is stealthy!grai

You pretty much need to go full screen to see them...

Deer in Kamloops, BC? ?‍♂ I'm thinking the fact that this is even a thread means Canadians have a stronger deer hunting culture than Americans. Because I see deer probably more drives than I don't see deer. They live in my town, within the city limits, in peoples yards, eating their shrubbery, apple trees, grazing everywhere, hanging out in parking lots and on the roads, crossing the street downtown, etc. At least they seem safer than the deer I see in more rural areas because cars don't spook them, they just look at you with a wary eye and slowly stroll away.

Thanks for sharing! Mother nature is awesome, and it sure looks like it was an awesome place to drive (I was stuck inside working yesterday, your day was way better)! :giggle:

Plenty of urban deer around here, amongst other things. I was watching TV in my rec room late one night a few years ago, with my back against the big picture window to the patio, when I felt a presence. I turned my head and was face to face with a bear through the glass, who apparently was interested in what I was watching... like literally, our faces were two feet apart. ?‍♂

Fawns aren't usually seen this young though, in town. I think mom keeps them away from people longer in the urban areas. And for good reason - there was a bit of traffic jam on my way to a friend's place a few km away on Tuesday... due to a dead deer in the middle of the road. I hate seeing that happen.

Anyway, here's a swamp donkey from three weeks ago...

Mother Nature definitely is awesome - I like it here and never get tired of the scenery... this is the view from my destination that day, a few hundred meters past the deer. You'd never know this was a forest that burned a couple years ago and was harvested for fiber. Watch where you walk or you'll twist your ankle in a burned out stump hole.
