Drivers side mirror gear stripped (loose and won't fully retract)

So I noticed a few days ago a clicking noise when I walked away from the truck. Noticed yesterday that the drivers side mirror had not fully retracted. Pushed on it and it was totally loose. When I got in I noticed that the mirror would not fully extend. Cycled it a couple of times and finally got it to extend all the way and locked. I disabled the mirror retraction and set up a service appointment for the 18th. Pretty sure there is a gear stripped out in the mirror control. It's never had any ice on it or anything else that would have restricted the mirrors movement. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue?

I had the same issue - there's a thread on here somewhere. Fixed under warranty at the service center. No idea how it happened.

i had the same issue, and with on-going warranty they replaced the mirror.
