My current experiment, an external sunshade that covers the windshield and most of the glass roof. Held in place by the windows.
It just takes a minute to place and remove.

Non-scientific update #1 : the screen has been in place two hours on a sunny day, the bit of hood under the screen is warm 115F but the uncovered hood is a burning hot 155F. So it’s doing something.

Good idea. I’ve been thinking about something similar for a while now on bright, sunny days. So have you measured the inside temperatures to compare with & without the sunshade?

I haven’t compared the with and without temps yet. I’ve got to believe it would slow down temperature increases - but maximum temp is probably about the same. Real world data to follow. I just need some sunny days

Definitely true in the context of cabin overheat protection but restricting the energy the climate control has to overcome makes a lot of sense.

yep, much like tinted windows. It does help slow the soak-time though.

Maybe you need the Cybertruck roof Power Sunshade.

I happen to think that’s one of the coolest CT mods (sorry for the pun) there is.
I would have one if I didn’t already own the starlight electrochromic shade thing which came out first.
How about someone makes one of those for the giant windshield? They would make a killing.

Have you done this? Have any pics of how it attaches?

Here's a picture of how it looks after installation, it does effectively block heat intrusion and it's cool too, after all, it can be controlled by voice. Haha.

Haven't got around to it yet. Going to do something completely custom though
