Hello to my fellow NJ perspective Cybertruck owners,

I have some updates to share:

1. I received my VIN last Thursday 3/21; VIN is below 6,000; there are plenty of talks about VIN sequence, and so on, you can check them out on different posts via this site.

2. I stopped by the Tesla dealership in Princeton the following date. No CT at showroom, the rep was super cool, confirmed my CT's built date, and transit location, even state of charging % in real-time. So, if you are getting one of these or any Tesla product, be prepared to be tracked ... ?... well, that goes to your cellphone or smart watch, nobody is really deteched unless you use a map and drive your 40 years old trucks into the rainforest of Amazon or somewhere remote.

3. By Saturday 3/23, Tesla advisor called and emailed me for intro. Clarify that no delivery has scheduled for the Princeton as of that day (despite my previous understanding that the first CT delivery had occurred in mid-March, that didn't happen).

4. Tesla advisor called back TODAY (3/25) confirming delivery is sometimes this week!! Yep, this week. The advisor emphasized that the delivery MUST BE by 3/31/2024.

5. Received insurance quote TODAY, it us not too bad, less than $1,400 per year, full coverage. It is a bit lower than my expectation, which I am.happy about it.

Cheers,

Super awesome.

Two quick questions. Any indication about why it must be by 3/31. Is that because your financing expires or because they’re trying to fill some quota metric or you have no idea? Second which insurance company I use NJ M so I’m curious of yours?

Hey scohen2022,

Not because my financing requirement, it is a TESLA's push. I assume they want to fulfill some Q1 deadline.

Not NJM, bit I use one of the national insurance company. My insurance agent is a fan of the CT also!

Hahaha, perhaps the first batch in central Jersey, but definitely not the first one, they already have someone claim that spot. I am on a work trip this week, I will be taking delivery later this week. They did say I am going go be the first 5 customers at that location.

I’m asking myself the same. I don’t know if I should go directly to the Paramus dealership and ask for any update.

I don’t want to waste my time by going up there. Most of the time, they say “keep checking the app”.

I wonder what is the hold-up!

I would call and ask where your vehicle is currently and when they estimate it will arrive at Paramus. If they can’t answer that I would go there and ask the same.

Since the rep at the dealership can actually track the CT by VIN # (i.e. production date, location, expected transit time, charging %) I say it is worthwhile to pay them a visit. I walked in not knowing their tracking capabilities, I left with a lot more information than I anticipated.

Honestly, I don't really care about Q1 delivery, obviously the thought of handing over $100k is a bit scary considered I have only seen the prototype in NYC 2 years ago, and I have never sat in it or test drove it.

I am not going to lie, I want the CT very much, but part of me secretly hope that I can get the standard AWD CT at $79k with the current fed tax credit. The thought of "so, I will need to wait 3 more years, not knowing the fed tax credit will still be around, and will Tesla raise price on CT?" Just scared me.

The other thoughts are, Tesla will not lower the CT price anytime soon, as demands are strong, and they have a hard time ramping up production, I don't think they have problems selling CT at the current prices. Plus the $20k FS, is not entirely BS, it comes with certain perks/ extras, and yes, paying full price for FSD (may never happen).

it’s the end of Q1. It’s to maximize deliveries for the first quarter.
