The bed cap causes a slightly higher range drop since airflow can no longer follow the roof glass. From his 2500 miles trip, the range impact is around 6.5%

CyberBeast 70mph Range Test

We put the CyberBeast to the test at 455 Wh/mi over 51.7 miles in 45 minutes, fully loaded with the Urander Pano Tent, 270° Awning, Flat Panel Rack, and Terrestrial Armor Package. Inside, the AC was running at 70°F while it was 91°F outside in California (late August). We took an exit just before the hill, and Starlink and drone charging stayed on the entire time. See how it performs for overlanding fully equipped.

Such a small world 😆 Just spotted a Gen 1 flat panel rack running a Gen 2 awning down in the Peninsula!

What if the first roof rail doubled as a canister for a tonneau cover? It could unspool to the next crossbar. So, you'd keep the first one up front always. Then, move the others together at the rear and when you want, you can install the tonneau like an old-time shade. It may help with aerodynamics but could ALSO be a cover for overlanding on a budget.
