What if the first roof rail doubled as a canister for a tonneau cover? It could unspool to the next crossbar. So, you'd keep the first one up front always. Then, move the others together at the rear and when you want, you can install the tonneau like an old-time shade. It may help with aerodynamics but could ALSO be a cover for overlanding on a budget.
