I got the email as I was literally refreshing the inbox to make sure there wasn’t a Tesla email waiting in the ether. To my surprise there was! This happened as I was walking into the grocery store, so I quickly grabbed what I needed and came back out 10-15 minutes later to configure it the car. I followed the link in the email to my Tesla account but there is no Cybertruck to configure anywhere in my account. Did I miss out by waiting a few minutes or is this a glitch that I need to sort out with Tesla?

So I figured it out and to potentially save someone else the same trouble, I’ll post it here. I did have to call Tesla to figure it out but realized what was probably going on while I was on hold. What happened was, I quickly used  Pay for the initial deposit and did not realize that my alternate email that is not linked to my account was tied to the reservation. Since I am an owner with an active Tesla account I am having to go through an email merge process which required sending an email with the request and a photo ID to verify. This will probably take a business day or two. Ughh….

No, I’m having to merge the accounts in order for it to show up on my regular account. I guess I could probably create a separate account with the other email, place the order and then wait for the merge. I am a little hesitant to muddy the waters though.

This happened to me when I ordered my Model Y I used that darn apple pay thing and it used the wrong email address. It took Tesla awhile to put it in my existing account.

I called back twice more to clarify whether I should log into the other account and build the truck or stand down until they rectify the situation. The second person put me on hold and then after five minutes the build was in my account. Truck ordered!
