Per Ashok Elluswamy, an Autopilot / AI engineer at Tesla.

"Cybertruck will start with parking assistance features, given that it ain't exactly the easiest vehicle to park. Initial release is slated for end of this week. FSD for Cybertruck expected in Sep."

It's nice to hear an update from Tesla directly WRT CTs and FSD. Ashok ought to be on top of it.
His timelines, historically, aren't great. He's not as famous as Musk for it. I think FSD is just difficult. They are still trying to figure out how to do it as he explained about HW3.

How can we possibly believe any dates published by tesla for CT features? ...
Seriously, we will be lucky to get FSD in October at this rate.

Frustrating that it didn’t even ship with basic autopilot stuff. Tesla is a trillion dollar company and it takes a year to roll the current software in a new car of theirs…

I'll give them that Autopilot is probably one of the most complex pieces of software ever implemented on a fleet, and the CT is very different in both size and function (4wd electronic steering). But DAMN... get it here ASAP.

Well to be fair, Elon is the eternal optimist on timelines, but the team like Ashok is probably giving you a more realistic timeline… you are new to the forum I see, just remember, their goal is safety MORE THAN LITERALLY ANYTHING, so if they thought they could get it out but it wasn’t as safe as they want it, they won’t release it. Of course we all want it, but the truck is so dang fun to drive, why rush haha

it's easy to park. no cruise control is crazy.
It’s got cruise control just not with lane assist. Maybe with this parking sensor updates it’ll be able to register lane lines so we’ll have advanced autopilot. But that’s prob wishful thinking lol.
