I had the strangest thing happen to me the other day. I was alone, got into my Cybertruck, and placed it into reverse. I was surprised to see a person standing along side my driver door on the Drive Mode portion of my screen as if looking into my window. I immediately placed the truck into park, fearing I may have hit the person, only to look out the window and see nobody there. The ghostly image remained standing there on my screen. I looked around again, placed my truck into reverse, and pulled away from the ghost, who continued to just stand there on my Drive Mode screen. Very weird, and kind of creepy. It made the hair on the back of neck stand on end. Probably just a software glitch, but has anyone else ever had this happen?

Kinda hard to say. You didn't think to save the dashcam footage?

The FSD visualization tool is known to sometimes hallucinate pedestrians... there was a version which had one constantly behind the car, no matter the speed.

Pretty common, but certainly freaky at first. Our garage- unfinished interior- is a relatively tight fit for the Model 3 with lots of bikes, tools, etc stored inside. I very often have one or two "ghosts walking around" when I pull in. On the Tesla visualization it looks quite similar to some of the "ghost box" visualizers on those "Ghost Adventures" type cable shows. I believe the original owner of the house might have died (natural causes) in the house, but it wasn't in the garage! I do not for one second believe Aake is walking around the garage, but it is a very interesting anomaly!

Just to clarify- I do not for a second believe this is a ghost. It is the Tesla system struggling to process this sudden litany of inputs in very close proximity to the camera. (Sometimes I'll turn the car on and it shows a tractor trailer parked immediately adjacent to the car). It's just overwhelmed by the bikes, ladders, yard tools, sheets of plywood, etc stored on 3 sides of the car. NOT implying I have some cool haunted house!

This is routinely happening when I get in and the CT is already set in FSD. The system doesn’t react to the ghost image though. Makes me think the system doesn’t really see that or it would be alerting and breaking

That's what ghosts mean. Hallucinations that the program momentarily thinks it sees, but then doesn't.

There aren't supernatural ghosts.

Interesting thread. It reminded me that a few days ago I got into my CT in the driveway, and when I put it into reverse the screen showed a motorcycle on my left and towards the rear of the truck. I put the truck into "park", thinking that a friend stopped by. When I looked around, there was nothing, and the screen was clear. Strange...
