Im planning a road trip and would like to maximize efficiency, but i also dont want to damage the wheels Tesla replaced by just putting the stock wheel covers back on.
currently i just have center “hub caps” in place. I have the “core” wheels, not the cyber wheel with the two part cover.
i know some have put gaffer’s tape or felt on the contact points, but has anyone found any other solutions?
i think the problem is hard plastic/metal clips are sharp, there is “wiggle room” and by the sheer fact that wheels move, there are friction points that scratch/rub/scuff the paint on the wheels with normal use.
Id be willing to put some kind of protective layer between the wheel covers and the metal spokes but the last thing i want is for one of the covers to fall off while driving because it wasn't held in place.
realistically, i know the efficiency boost is probably modest at best but still.
