We do pay plenty for electricity and gasoline in California! My home cost is $0.32/kWh. The Atascadero electricity cost is $0.46/kWh. When I moved to Washington in 1981 the cost of electricity was $0.027/kWh! But that was a long time ago in a much different world.....

How did you calculate your electricity cost you $80?

After adding 10% for charging losses, I calculated you should have only spent $63.16 on electricity, $31.12 at the Supercharger and $32.04 at home.

You charged 50% of the pack at $0.46/kWh and 74% of the pack at $0.32/kWh. The pack is only 123 kWh, right? I used 135.3 kWh battery capacity to account for the assumed 10% charging loss.

You are correct. To get $80, I counted an extra charge when I initially charged to 80% at home. I started the trip at 80% from home, got a supercharge on the road for $36.36 and then recharged at home back to 80% for $29.71. The total trip cost $60.07 for 368 miles or about 18 cents/mile. Thanks for the correction!
