Has anyone gotten their Cybertrucks to the outer Islands of Hawaii yet?
I got my VIN a month ago and I was told it was still in Texas.
They said 30-90 days to get it to LA and shipped to Oahu then the individuals need to arrange to ship to their Island.
Just wondering how well the process works and how much time they give you to arrange pickup and shipping.

I live on a neighbor island.
I just received an email to order a FS. I’m thinking of passing since I may be moving to a different island next year and it may not make sense for me to ship it here then ship it a few months later. I’ve purchased multiple vehicles off island before and the dealers have always arranged shipping. I just had to pay the Young Bros. charge. Seems like Tesla offers no assistance. You got to do this yourself.

Thanks. It will be interesting.

Got mine last Thursday.

Reserved - Within 1 minute of it going live in Nov 2019
Allowed to Configure - 31 January 2024
Vin Received - 4 April 2024
Delivered - 30 May 2024

So to be honest, the process was a bit frustrating. I was told Feb through April Delivery. Obviously we live in one of the most remotes corners of earth and it has its challenges. What was most annoying though was the lack of details.

- No way of knowing the status of the truck
- No way to see location
- Vague Delivery Dates
- No way to contact Tesla other than long phone wait times

The only way I was able to find any info was to go in and speak with a tesla rep. And that was cool but also frustrating. First off, they are busy and I hated to ask them to pull my info for my truck and see its location. But, it was vital because when it came to insurance, payment, or even loan docs....Dates mattered!

The delivery experience was to be desired. Didn't even get a placard waiting in the car or a congratulatory anything. Wasn't expecting a show.....but I did just drop $100k. It was kinda like, "Hey, heres your truck, see ya later"

Super happy with it overall. Can't complain about the truck itself so far but we'll see. First time EV owner but this is my 4th truck. Im Happy so far!

A friend of mine recently (6/3) sent me this pic from Port of San Diego and said they’re probably heading to HI based on what he knows of port outbound traffic. Most cars only come in from other countries here. Looks like you guys might be seeing some more CT action soon! It’s a beautiful sight.

I saw someone post a YouTube video with fire type of wrap from Hawaii, he or she is also on this forum.

Thanks for the info. I was guessing communications would be challenging. Sounds frustrating to say the least. My financing approval may expire before it arrives. What Island? I assume Oahu since no mention or barge coordination issues. Mahalo for sharing your story and hope you continue to enjoy the truck!!

I am in Oahu and live very near the store.

So to add some more info to the post. 4 Trucks were delivered to island on or around May 6th, however only one was deemed deliverable and sent to an owner the following week around the 14th or so. The other 3, I am told, are awaiting "parts" from tesla so they can be rid of extensive rust damage. I used a bottle of Iron X as soon as my car was delivered.

On the 20th about 16 or 17 Trucks were delivered and it appears that another 20 or so are scheduled to be on the next ship out of San Diego. This is where they ship from with Pasha and I was able to see my truck on the GPS trail at the facility for confirmation. Mine was delivered on the night of the 19th, got off the boat the 20th, and I waited over a week before getting to pick it up.

Pasha takes about 2 days to offload the ship, Tesla takes 2 to 4 days to bring the vehicles from Pasha to their storage facility, then its up in the air how long it takes you to get your truck. Service needs to clean, prep, and fix any recalls (Pedal Rivet) before they can be delivered to customers.

Also for reference my VIN was in the mid 7K range

That is excellent info!!
Got my VIN on May 7th....low 11xxx.
I used long term tesla shareholder option to try and accelerate delivery.
My cancer diagnosis makes me want to get my "Ultimate Toy" ASAP before meds restrict my driving. This will probably be the last vehicle I will ever buy. I am looking at it as 10 powerwalls to backup my solar system during an emergency. I live in a remote area on Hamakua Coast, Big Island....and it is Hurricane Season already.
Mahalo!!

Having had a condo on Kauai, I understand the frustrations of getting anything that is not your cookie-cutter consumer item. I wanted a specific dishwasher washer/dryer and fridge. Even the ones that were listed as available at Home Depot were 3 months out. Which turned into 5 months. And it was impossible to get anyone at the local Home Depot that knew anything. Costs were through the roof.

It takes a special kind of person to want to deal with all that. You might as well just buy a Toyota Tacoma, LOL!

Just curious how you were able to "see my truck on the GPS trail at the facility"? Do you have a connection at Pasha that gave you inside info? Unlike Matson, Pasha doesn't offer vehicle tracking via VIN on their website. I'm currently expecting my CT to arrive "between 7/22 and 7/29" according to Tesla. Looking at Pasha's sailing schedule, I'm pretty sure I know which two sailings are possibilities that would arrive in that timeframe, but more info never hurts, especially since I've got a lot to coordinate for financing, insurance, trade in, etc.

If you ask the employees nicely at the tesla store, they can look up the live location of the truck as long as you have a VIN #. Also, the pasha ship the delivers is the Roll on Roll off ship that departs from San Diego. None of the other ships have been delivering Tesla vehicles from what I can tell. This ship (Cant remember the name) comes in about every 10-14 days

Thanks for sharing. I got my VIN last week. Based on info that Tesla texted me, I've narrowed it down to the two sailings from San Diego that arrive in HNL within timeline that Tesla mentioned in their text to me after I received my VIN.

I'm going to wait until after the first sailing departs next week to text Tesla back and ask for an update. If the text doesn't work, I'll consider visiting in person, probably the Ala Moana store, since it appears that's where they're doing deliveries now instead of the Service Center. (the SC employees are busy enough as is without impatient owners bugging them!).

My advice is dont get caught too much on the timeline for delivery they are quoting. Theres well over 50 trucks on island and only 20 or so have been delivered when we did our Cybertruck meetup at the Ala Moana store and the employee came out to chat with us. I imagine theres probably even more trucks by now. My truck said it would be delivered 10 May and the boat didnt arrive until the 16th, and I didnt take delivery until the 30th. They also rushed mine to be delivered since I was leaving the island for 3 weeks for work the 31st.

I think the real holdup is the SC. Ive got to know a few of the guys over there and they said when Tesla laid off all those employees a few months ago, they took a big hit to their manning. And the amount of vehicles coming in has only gotten larger and larger, not to mention repairs ongoing. My truck is currently in the shop awaiting parts. Nothing too major but im about to head down there now and get an update. They were nice enough to provide a loaner but I think thats the least they could do considering im making payments on the truck thats not in my possession.

Anyways, I know of at least 10 or so trucks delivered back in May that are still awaiting delivery. I hope you get yours soonest but truthfully, it may be a few more weeks after delivery. Be sure to add yourself to our Tesla Cybertruck Hawaii facebook group. Would love to have you at the next meetup.

Thanks again for sharing. I'm surprised there are so many here already and processing.

This will be my 5th Tesla, going all the way back to when the SC was out in Waipahu and you had to do all the running around yourself to get the paperwork for registration since Hawaii didn't have a dealership license yet. I used to know more of the Kakaako SC folks, but I've lost touch over the years.
