Ok, I joined this forum after finding this post. Got my CT AWD last week. Had my windows/windshield tinted and on the way home the hazard lights began to flash and would not turn off. Thankfully, I found this forum describing the issue. I removed the overhead console and disassembled it. Remove all screws, the two sides (with magnets) lift out vertically. The inner plastic housing will separate with a good amount of pulling. (I was a little worried I might break it, but it will come apart) inside there are a few more fasteners and a small ribbon cable connected to the control board. Use a micro screw driver to lift the black tab up and the cable can be removed, allowing for removal of the board and its base. Once completely disassembled I used a hair dryer on low heat to remove any remaining moisture. (Just be sure it is COMPLETELY dry before re assembly). Reconnect to truck and be sure to depress and hold the brake pedal then you should be able to use the hazard button to turn the lights off. WARNING TO ANYONE ABOUT TO GET THE WINDSHIELD TINTED—-MAKE SURE TECHNICIANS REMOVE THE CONTROL MODULE BEFORE APPLYING ANY LIQUIDS TO WINDSHIELD. This should prevent this issue from occurring.
Thank you again to this forum for providing the solution!!!
