The emergency lights are still on without the controller plugged in. The water in the controller was not sending the signal to change the state from off or on. Just like the controller can control Drive and Reverse, you can change those settings on screen. Why wouldn’t controlling emergency lights in a similar way be possible?

***EDIT*** (Issue resolved, explanation below)

Hey guys,

I picked up my Cyberbeast Tri-Motor Truck last Saturday, March 23rd here in California.

I brought it to be wrapped and have the windows tinted. Upon picking up the truck everything was fine. I drove about 20 minutes to get dinner and I parked the truck and locked the doors and went inside.

About an hour later I come outside to see that the hazard lights were blinking, and nothing I do is allowing me to shut them off. ?

I’ve tried all of the basic stuff like a soft reset using the scroll wheels, powering down the vehicle using the touchscreen. I’ve even gone as far to unplug the touch assembly control unit following the instructions in the owners manual (found here). Unfortunately, even after disconnecting the unit and plugging it back in, the hazard lights continue to remain on. I’ve tried calling technical support, and the only thing they offered to do is have the vehicle towed, but since it’s still drivable, I didn’t want to do that and I drove it home.

I have it plugged in on the charger right now, and other than the hazard lights, blinking, there is no indication on the dash, no notifications in the system, nothing at all to indicate that there’s a problem, and absolutely no way to shut them off from the screen. It’s pretty unfortunate that Tesla doesn’t have any other way to turn them off other than the touch sensor on the overhead console.

Anyone have any ideas? I guess I’ll need to drive it into the local service center tomorrow with the hazard lights on the whole time. ??‍♂

Update:

I’d like to report that I was able to find the issue, isolate it and address it so that the hazard lights turned off. It’s important because if someone else comes across the same issue, I want them to find the solution as well.

Upon having the front windshield tinted, a little bit of water got inside of the assembly unit above where the hazard lights are located. Since it is a sensitive hazard light button, I’m assuming that the small amount of water underneath caused it to malfunction.

I removed the assembly carefully, and unplugged it, took it inside my home and sprayed some isopropyl alcohol on the inside and used a blow dryer and compressed air to get any residue of water out from the inside.

After giving it about an hour to dry and plugging it back in, the hazard light button was responsive again and all is well. I hope this helps for anyone else that might get into a similar situation after having their window tinted.
Same issue.. just got windows tinted today and hazards came on. I did everything you mentioned. Removed the Overhead Console Assembly. Sure enough there was water in it. I used compressed air to force as much as I could out and then used a blow dryer for 15 mins. Seems completely dry now but after re-attaching it still is unresponsive.

Two questions:
1) did you take apart the assembly after removing it to dry?
2) after putting it back in, did you need to reboot the car or restart anything?

Ok.. this is kind of embarrassing but posting in case others did the same thing. Keep in mind I just picked up my Cybertruck yesterday, got it tinted today and then ran into this problem. I did all the things the OP outlined (removed the Front Overhead Console Assembly, compressed air to push out any standing water, blow dryer on low heat for 20 mins). Then I tried simply pushing the hazard light to turn it off with no success. I did not realize you need to put your foot on the break and turn the car on.. until the rest of the gear lights (P R N D) light up, the hazard button doesn't operate to turn them off. Anyway, it's fixed!

Two other things that might be useful for others about to tint their windows:
  1. Remove the Front Overhead Console Assembly before you bring it to be tinted and
  2. It's easy to do, but here are Tesla's instructions on how to remove it (either to prep for going to be tinted or in response to the problem we all have had). I know the OP posted this link somewhere but just in case here it is again.

I picked up my CyberTruck today at the Tesla Delivery Center. When I was at the Tesla Delivery Center in Sunnyvale, CA. There 3, maybe more, CyberTrucks with their emergency flashers flashing. One of the CyberTrucks, with flashing emergency lights, matched the VIN I was looking for. I drove it home. Late in the evening, I decided to turn my car around in the driveway. When I got in the car the emergency button started flashing (or so I thought) because the emergency flasher button in the overhead console was flashing. I tried turning off the emergency flasher by pressing the emergency flasher button, but It didn’t turn off! There is nothing in the manual about the emergency flasher. So, I searched Google for “CyberTruck emergency flasher will not turn off”. There were a lot of posts, but no solutions.
It finally dawned on me that it wasn’t the emergency flashers. It was the turn signal that I had probably accidentally touched. When the turn signals flash, the light in the emergency flasher button also flashes! If it had been a turn signal stalk, I could have seen that the turn signal was ON. With the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, you cannot tell that one of the turn signal has been activated.
This explains why just about every CyberTruck in the delivery lot had blinking turn signals.
One of the hub caps (older style) was not aligned correctly. The hub cap did not line up with the indents in the tire. I pointed it out and a technician attempted to realign it. He got it aligned better, but it stuck out much further than the 3 other hub caps. I figured I fix it at home.

Experienced this last night after tinting. Took it down, blew air, took the screws out, nothing worked after messing with it for two hours. Drove home with them on. Next morning, it's working fine. No need a Tesla service. Just blow it real good and wait it out. The installer was apologetic.
