Help: Insurance Coverage Troubles (Cybertruck, Home, Umbrella + Other Autos)

Hi all:

Thanks in advance for your help. Washington State resident.

We are unable to get the Cybertruck insured through our current provider (PEMCO), and PEMCO will not provide an umbrella policy if I do not have all vehicles insured through PEMCO.

Finally, both Progressive and Geico will not ensure our home.

So my question is:

1. Am I missing any full coverage -> auto + home + umbrella carriers that you recommend I investigate?

2. I would use the Cybertruck for business but it has some % personal usage. Any strategies here that could make sense?

3. If I use PEMCO for our home insurance, find another cybertruck insurer (say progressive who *will* cover it), I will lose umbrella. Who might I get the umbrella policy through?

If you want umbrella and costco is insurance is available in your state try them. Their customer care is awesome and very helpful. Or keep your home insurance with what you have and get a quote from tesla insurance. Usually they give you a good rate for the first 6 months… I was with tesla for the first 6 months and than they jacked up the price so switched to costco… Also what i heard from people progressive is really good with tesla quotes. I think you should get some quotes and then decide. Insurance is really tricky and changes from person to person state to state and so on… good luck.

Get umbrella from different provider, and CT as well. Liberty Mutual, Progressive and Geico do umbrella coverage and CT.

I'm in WA state, and have umbrella, auto, and home insurance through Amica. They've also been the most helpful and friendly agents I've ever dealt with, insurance-wise. They were also cheaper than my old carrier, Nationwide.

Chubb will add excess liability (same as umbrella) to homeowners insurance. They don't care who insures the CT, but they have limits requirements like umbrellas. Probably not the cheapest.

In my experiences with 2 auto claims, they’ve just been great. Also super friendly and helpful. Also important: the auto body shop I’ve used said they’re great to work with too. They don’t buckle and dine or question every line item of a repair like some other companies do.

And they cover CT. I just called them yesterday to get my CT covered when I take delivery this upcoming week.

WA resident. We just moved our whole package from Safeco to State Farm. Umbrella, house, cars, and motorcycles.

I was shocked when they refused coverage of the truck. It cost them a 40 year customer.

The irony of not covering a nearly indestructible truck and losing customers… stupid games/stupid prizes for them.

USAA gave me a fair rate for mine, well below Tesla insurance and got to keep my home and auto bundle.

Had full coverage for a Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Sport with AARP Hartford. They wouldn't cover the CT. Changed everything to Progressive.

Did you end up finding a solution? It sounds like a tricky situation with so many moving parts. You can call trexis insurance customer service, they were super helpful when I had similar issues. They might have some flexible options for auto, home, and umbrella coverage that could work for you.
