I'm trading in my Tacoma for the AWD CT (I was originally supposed to pickup on 3/19 now scheduled for 3/25 because of a "containment hold" to fix a few issues). I already had a trip planned in April for some sight seeing and minor off roading in Utah that I was originally going to do in the Tacoma but now get to do in the CT! I'm already have some range anxiety about the trip though. When using the Tesla trip planner, the CT is not an option so I'm thinking I should assume the worst and pretend I'm driving a Model 3 real wheel drive with only 272 miles of range. Based on others who have done extended road trips in the CT is this a good comparison?

Huh? Why not use the Cybertruck's own trip planner?

I’m assuming that you mean what is built into the cybertruck itself? I haven’t taken delivery yet and trying to map out the trip to see if it is still plausible as originally planned. We are going to some remote areas without convenient chargers so I feel like I need to do some preplanning.

I get the anxiety. but once you have the truck, you'll just plop it into the nav and it will do all the thinking for you .

My anxiety is that i really can't guess how much battery drain to anticipate while off roading and doing random site seeing (and that there are limited superchargers near the reservations).

I just took the truck on a 1,000 road trip from AZ to Dallas. i was surprised at how inaccurate the trip planner was. In some cases milage was a nearly 20% worse than the trip planner estimated. This was with me exactly following the speed limit on cruise. When I stopped to charge, the app would tell me how much milage was 'wasted' going 70+ mph. However, the posted speed limit was 80 mph for most of the trip. You would think that the app would be smart enough to take this into consideration when calculating how much you needed to charge. It seems like the app gives you a best case scenario for the trip, rather than a real world estimation.

You need to tell it that you're driving at the limit.

...I'm not sure how to do that.
