If your trying to run power and wanna not have to tunnel a usbc cable several feet you should locate an adapter for the obd 2 port. I purchased a wireless MagSafe charger from Tsportline and it came with a obd 2 to usb c cable. Now we can actually make this port that for most part is useless and make it very useful. Also quick internet search and there are many others out there.

This was some new and very useful information I might be able to use in the future.

I carry a portable toilet when outside the Metro with me for those just in case, stuck in car for hours travel nightmares, with a pop up enclosure. It's been needed more that once. Also weighs next to nothing and is sanitary with the wag bags.
You have to be kidding. Is that for adults? I can't imagine.

That's pretty cool. One of the issues in the CT is that there is no available 12V source. However, the OBDII port is definitely a source for 12V power. Of course, I have no idea how much power it is rated for. I would guess not much at all, but it would probably run a radar detector or similar piece of 12V electronics.

it depends on the load. Tbh after some googling I found The maximum current draw allowed on a standard SAE J1962 diagnostic connector (commonly used for OBD-II ports in vehicles) is 6 Amps.

This 5V/3A output translates to a maximum of approximately 15 watts (5V x 3A), but this is the output from the adapter, not the raw limit of the OBD2 port itself.

I looked up into the Obd port power plug before as well. Being that I wanted to have 2 dash phone chargers on it, I did not think it would be enough power for both.

Absolutely. I saw the one for tsportline as well. I just did not like that I couldn't move it.

My roof glass gizmo runs on my OBD port in my new car. I learned a lot of lessons from the first car and one of them was how annoying it was that it reset every time the car turned off. You had to cycle through all the colors and turn it back to transparent mode every time you got in the car which I hated. It’s only about 12w so proves nothing about max draw but my point is that the obd power is quite special in that it’s basically the only thing in your car which provides power 24/7/365.25. It doesn’t have to, I do turn my roof light off but only when I want to.
My advice is save the obd power for something that needs that special characteristic and don’t waste it on something easy to power from other sources like a phone charger.
If you must though, the fastest non-Apple magnetic wireless chargers available are capable of 15w I think. The latest iPhones and specialized MagSafe chargers made by Apple I think can do 25w.
So since most sources agree the obd can safely provide 4ampsx12v=48watts, two wireless chargers should be a maximum of 30w and perfectly safe.

I don't know if I've ever used the outlet in the center console. I don't know how often that is used but guessing if not many people use it they will take it away on future builds. Like how they took the passenger lumbar support because no one was using it.
