Pretty much that saids it all. Ain't many of you if any of you like me. Sure I am getting a Cyber, but that is about where the similarities stop. Ain't that funny? Such a "polarizing" object and if we both git one we will not be "poled" to each other. Any of the other Tesla's would put you more in a group than being a "Cyber Owner" does. And there are several reasons for that...
For one it is "new". I mean the whole kit and kaboodle is"new." So there isn't a stigma that goes along with being a "Cyber-owner" right now. You will stand out in a crowd. Why you chose to is even different within the group. But people won't know anything else about what or who you are. You aren't going to be demographic-ized based on the Cyber.
I was already thinking you and I ain't alike, but this post brought it forward in my mind:

And some one replied: Not to be too contrary, but "none of the above". To each their own. I can't remember who replied that way. But that's me too. And then I ain't like him as well.
This vehicle comes with a clean slate. Many of us are buying it to fulfill our dream/need/desire because it does not have a label. Because the vehicle is so capable, and does not fit into a box (like calling it a truck), we were not limited in our own construct of what it will be for us.

Because of the "newness and capabilities" we are purchasing this vehicle to fulfill our unlimited imaginations.
And thereby creating a vastly diverse group of owners.
There are common threads amongst us. I think one is that all the current vehicles fail us on some level. Right now I got the big ram Dodge hemi pick-up. It does about the same work as my old dodge(mitsubishi) Colt did. It gets me from here to there (at 3x the gas cost in MPG). The Dodge ain't ideal.
the Cyber seems as though it will be. I am hoping. I haven't had as full-filling a vehicle since my old Volvo station wagon back in the 1980's. A reliable, economical, sturdy, storage-accommodating, sleepable, hauling vehicle, with a sense of freedom to "just get in it and go." And yet cool enough to pick up the right person/people to go have fun with.
Pretty much everything since then has been lacking.
And I already know, most people are not getting the Cyber to fulfill my dream. We are all different.

No I am pretty much saying we are all seeing a blank slate as to "who" will own this vehicle as there is no stigmatism attached to it by those who are buying/getting it because it is new, and doesn't have a reputation.
No person, or their idea of what the Cyber is or will be, is contrarian because there is not a consensus on what we are supposed to do with it...

I am not purchasing the CT to fulfill anyones dream other than my own needs and wants. The CT needs to succeed based on selfish reasons, I want it and thus if the CT is to be maintained, industry requires volume support to make maintaining economical.

The CT mostly fills my wants versus needs in my case, I am banking the vehicle will also save my sanity during my commute.

My impression is the CT stimulates a sense of freedom for you. The CT inspires an oasis for me.

I am not understanding the point about being similar/dissimilar. Why does it matter?

How we are all similar:

Yeah? I think you missed my point because you write it as if you are arguing with me?
Of course we are all "similar" because we are interested in buying the vehicle to fulfill a need we believe we have. But the thing I was trying to just share is the perspective of, "The Cyber is so new that we can all have different ideas of what it will be for us on an individual basis.
The vehicle's stated aspects and abilities are varied, but all good. It has a ton of ability... and no one is put off because it has a pedigree or a following to do a certain job, or be for a certain group.
And I thought that was part of the reason such a broad spectrum of people wanted one.
We can all make it a more personal and unique experience in how we think about it all because it comes to us fresh.

The CT means many different things to everyone who have pre-orders. Just because I own a 2000 F150 it in no way ties/bonds me to any other person that owns a Ford or a truck. That being said the only reason I am here is for information as to what is coming down the road from EM. That way I will be able to make the correct final configuration decisions when the time comes.

I’m 64 and the main reasons I choose the CT are things I have wanted to see in a vehicle for the past 40+ years.
Never again having to park in the back of a parking lots to avoid door dings
Never again having to decide which brand of gas, oil, and filters is best
Never again having to wax or polish
Almost the elimination of maintenance schedules
Etc.

For the consumers the KISS approach to vehicle design and build says it all.

I am not saying the CT is simple. My 20-year-old truck has 80,000 miles on it and when the CT gets here the simplicity of owning, maintaining, and driving will be very welcome to this feeble mind.

I had a house phone back in 1994 that you could configure it to dial your friends by just saying, "Phone dial ....Frank". And bellyboat Flyfishing for bass on golf course water hazards back in the 1970's put me on the leading edge for years.
I can't see someone that buys a Cyber as an early adopter.

I have given this some thought, and the most significant thing the Cyber will tell about its owner is that they are willing to embrace change.

~500,000 of us if the numbers thing is right. I would have to say yes I'm an early adopter, but I refuse to accept Twitter and other social media. Had my fill with myspace.
