Was not too excited about EV vehicles until the CT. Range, utility, durability and most important a portable PowerWall made it a no-brainer.
I was anticipating adding battery storage for my 10KW Solar Panel system at a price of $8-10K for 10KW. Now I can look forward to 75-100 KW in the CT.

Do you know if the Tesla Powerwall is available in Iowa? I put my address in, but I can't proceed on the site. I'd love to be able to have a 10KW solar system to charge 1-2 Teslas

I'm close by ya. New Hampton. I ordered the dual motor. Not too many of us in the area that have one ordered. Just though I'd touch base.

Anyhow, I'm curious....does the CT come with a charger? Or do you have to buy it separately? Curious also about what it would cost to install into your garage.

The charger is built into every Tesla. The Wall connector is sold separately on Tesla.com. The High Power Wall Connector cost $500. It cost me, for instance, $1,200 to have a 100 Amp panel installed in the garage, two short 60 Amp runs (One for my CT and one for my wife's MY), a 20 Amp 110 plug for my garage, and wiring in/installing the HPWC. Now, this is in Nebraska so your mileage may vary.

That's quite the system... probably set you back a couple of bucks.

Well, that's not bad at all. I'd love to do panels on my house but got so irritated just trying to get a quote on a system that I all but gave up.

Currently, probably not. I have had an order for 3 powerwalls pending for over a year. Tesla is prioritizing orders for megapack and solar w/powerwall only. I believe this is more evidence of a shortage of battery cells.

A bit late, but a Tesla solar system was installed awhile back 3 houses down from my dad in Ames. Don't know the details. Dad noticed the Powerwall boxes waiting to go out with the trash after it was installed.

I got a blizzard of Tesla solar emails a bit before it was installed. Sadly dad's roof is heavily shaded by a HUGE old oak tree to the SE.

I tried to get Tesla Power Wall installed here a couple years ago. After 9 months of disjointed correspondence, then no contact for a couple months then more foot dragging, I gave up on them and went with Enphase.
