It makes zero sense the buyer would be angry because cars without FSD don't claim they have FSD. If Tesla stripped the FSD before they sold the car, it would show up to the buyer as a car without FSD.If the vehicle ever went through Tesla (most do) they strip the FSD off when selling to the dealer. Often times the dealer didn't know and there was a lot of angry used car buyers.
Huh? That's like saying it would be a scummy business practice for a car lot to remove any feature of a car before re-selling it. The car lot owns the vehicles they buy, they can remove tires/wheels, take the engine out (and sell it without an engine) or remove whatever they want before they resell it. Because they paid for it and they own it.Its such a scummy business practice to remove a feature paid for in full and attached to a VIN.
If you owned the company, you could certainly chose to do that. But Tesla can chose to sell the products they develop and manufacture in any manner they wish. If you don't like it, buy a product from a manufacturer who offers what you want. Shaming Tesla for only offering their products under their terms is just weird. Nobody is forcing you to buy it.The right thing to do would be to attach to a VIN for the life of a vehicle. Or attach the FSD license to a driver.
In my opinion your analogy doesn't not exactly match what is happening. The original owner commissioned and paid for the feature in full. Tesla removing it is simply a destruction of value. They are in their right to do it, obviously, but its scummy.Huh? That's like saying it would be a scummy business practice for a car lot to remove any feature of a car before re-selling it. There have been many cases where dealers list cars with FSD and have screen shots from the Auction. When the person buys the car, there's no FSD, only to find out the dealer purchased the car through an auction which stripped the FSD.It makes zero sense the buyer would be angry because cars without FSD don't claim they have FSD. Why would any buyer think they were buying a car with FSD if Tesla had already stripped FSD before they sold it? And, if Tesla forgot to strip FSD before it was sold, they would have no right to strip it after the sale (unless it had been clearly disclosed the car they were selling didn't have FSD).
How exactly would an auction strip a used Tesla of FSD? Regardless of how the car changes hands, it's Tesla that transfers ownership in their system. It seems that moment is when FSD is either transferred or isn't.There have been many cases where dealers list cars with FSD and have screen shots from the Auction. It was a bigger deal a few years ago when it seemed to occur regularly.

There are many of these stories. Some with pictures and some without.
It appears the issue is Tesla doesn't remove the FSD until it's sold, so pictures and even when they can view the car, they see it has FSD.
All of these cases Tesla entered the car in the auction, i.e. someone traded in their car to Tesla. How exactly would an auction strip a used Tesla of FSD? Sigh, that's false advertising by the dealer. Tesla doesn't control how dealers advertise the cars. There have been many cases where dealers list cars with FSD and have screen shots from the Auction. It's false advertising by Tesla and the Auction house. The Auction House wouldn't know that Tesla would remove the FSD post sale. I assume you didn't read the thread posted.Sigh, that's false advertising by the dealer. Tesla doesn't control how dealers advertise the cars.
