I'm going to a local event where my truck will be parked and unattended for several hours this weekend. Obviously I have sentry mode and a huge thumb drive ready to go to document what happens, but it will be at a place that tends to attract more colorful individuals. I'm hoping for absolutely nothing to happen, would have already had people write stupid things on the side of my truck in the grime.

Has anyone ever tried putting up a "smile you're on camera" sign or something to that effect? I don't want to have to deal some dunce thinking they're being cute And then have it turn into a whole thing with the event hosts.

You do know that the car displays the Tesla owl when century is activated right?

Only asking because most of us never see it and some people don’t know what’s there.

Dude, live your life..
I use it as a work vehicle and I don't want to have to deal with trying to get a swastika and a giant dick off the side of it.

That doesn't seem to deter people for some reason.

I’m not saying that it does just making sure that you knew that it existed. Because your solution seemed to be posting a different sign and I’m not sure that if you don’t think this is working why that would.

Something prominent on the dash is way easier to see than the screen from the outside.

Most certainly. I just don’t know that a notice is enough in either case. At some point, there is a little that you can do to stop somebody who wants to do something stupid.

Is there any way to make the sentry sounds more prominent then? It doesn't seem to do any of the audible sentry alerts that my model y does and I can't seem to find the toggle for it.

This is exactly what I'm saying by my comment of "live your life". There is nothing you can do to stop someone stupid.. Most people do not go to events with spray paint or markers. Ass prints are a different story. There are days where I get so concerned with someone fucking with my truck, I just try to power through it. and live.

The event is quite literally going to be at a place that sells spray paint and art supplies so I think my concern is a little valid here.

I’m in a similar boat as you. I don’t even take it to the grocery store. It’s my shuttle between my home and vacation home. It goes garage to garage. I will take it to a restaurant as long as I am parked near the entrance and can keep an eye on it. The one time I went to a restaurant and parked it around a corner, some punk assed fools messed with it (no damage luckily). Until the social network echo chamber moves on to its next target, I will unfortunately be using my Fords for when I have to run errands.

if Tesla would allow the damned app to give alerts on Sentry motion (I don’t care if it’s a lot of notifications), then I would feel better about leaving the CT alone as I could exit a Home Depot or grocery store in seconds and throw down on the perp.
