This was pretty light. Also, they don't see it as being caught in a shameful act, they see it as some noble act of civil disobedience. Promoting this behavior by constantly sharing this kind of stuff exacerbates the problem. Exactly—there should be accountability for this kind of behavior. Extreme ideologies, regardless of where they fall on the spectrum, can sometimes lead people to act irrationally or destructively, and that needs to be addressed seriously. In cases like this, appropriate intervention—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy—can be beneficial in helping individuals recognize and change harmful thought patterns and behaviors. Liberalism is a mental disorder, plain and simple. It should be treated just like Bipolarism or Schizophrenia.

Legal consequences should also be part of the process, including community service and responsibility for any instigators or enablers involved. Everyone who plays a role in encouraging or allowing such actions to happen without consequence should be held accountable. I bet, 10,000 hours of community service, on a chain gang, breaking boulders into gravel, would make them consider and refrain.
