Quick example of how much muddy spray gets cut down by having the OEM mud flaps.
I will note that the rear sail panels (behind the rear tires) used to be constantly filthy. The amount of mud and gunk is easily cut down 90+% (or so it seems) by having the rear mud flaps and that's a lot of surface area to keep clean.
