It should sell well. Very curious what the Premium will price out at and how long they'll be able to milk the Launch Series price enhancement. A low to mid $50ks Premium pricing should do very well in North America. Then in a couple years offer the standard AWD version and launch the larger Cyburban!

I disagree. I think the launch model might do OK but after that I don’t believe it will be a top seller. It’s still just too dam small of a car. I really wish Tesla would make a SUV, I believe a SUV would easily out sell everything else Tesla combined.

I think it will sell like hot cakes. I think the proportions look a little nicer than the standard Y, too. The shorter model is a bit blobby.

The Y is a crossover SUV, and the Y L is almost the length of X making it a regular SUV and it already outsells everything else combined.

look on the road. Most vehicles are mid size suv or smaller. Also comes down to cost. There's a reason the y is the best selling vehicle on the road. Cost and size are what people want. The x was bigger, more expensive and sold poorly. The larger y should de pretty good, but the intro price is high.

I would love an suv based on the cybertruck platform but it's not going to be a big seller unless they really get pricing down. $85k-$100k vehicles can't do great volume. It could do well in its class but outsell all of Tesla other vehicles? Zero chance. What you want isn't what the masses want or need.

The new Y L is 6.9 inches longer than a regular Y (which is less than 4%). It is also 1.7 inches higher, but same width. These differences amount to a noticeable increase in interior space, but they are relatively subtle from outside. Even if you are a Tesla enthusiast, you might not notice a Y L if you passed it on the freeway.

I think the Y L will sell in the US, but a lot of the sales will come at the expense of the regular Y. People will go to the Tesla store planning to buy a Y, will sit in some different vehicles, and decide they prefer the more spacious interior of the Y L. I also think that the regular Y has done the same thing to the Model 3 -- in the US, Model Y sales are great but Model 3 sales are falling.

It would be cool if Tesla put a bed on the Y L platform. You would definitely notice that if you passed it on the freeway.

The wheelbase of a Y L is 119.7 inches. That's almost the same as the wheelbase of a Ford Maverick (only 1.4 inches difference).

And an inexpensive Model Y L with a bed wouldn't take sales from the Cybertruck or the Y; it would bring in entirely new customers. Realistically, though, I don't think Tesla has any plans to develop such a thing.

I’ve been waiting for this product. Unfortunately, this lowers the likelihood of getting a CT anytime soon. Without going over ~$80k the CT was the only one that fit a family of 5 with 3 small kids in car seats comfortably, so it was off and on our radar. Since I need the long range truck, it couldn’t be my primary, and wife had no interest in the CT for her daily.

Once the lower priced RWD Y L version comes out we will likely purchase our first Tesla!
