My AWD was delivered in May; VIN just under 7,000; has about 18,000 miles today. There is a 'howl' in the 40s MPH; most significant at 45-47MPH.
When I first picked it up, I did not go 12 miles and it 'locked up'! The bolts on one of the drive shafts had not been torqued tight enough when built.
Tesla replace both rear drive shafts and the right rear spindle/knuckle.After that it was fine and was very quite all the time..but after a
few thousands miles...maybe 5-8000 (I think I'm right) there seemed to be a 'howl' or whine in the area of 40 to 49mph around town..but mostly at 44 to 47mph.
Does not seem to be getting worse?
1)-anybody else have same/similar experience and what did you do?
2)-what could it be? (bearing in rear motor affected by the drive shaft event..just took time to develop?)
3)-is it really something to be concerned about as it only does at that speed...no other slow or fast speed?
