I drive for Uber and Lyft part time. Also, this isn't considering solar offset.

5 months now that my wife and I have both kicked the gas station habit. My Lightning and her MY have raised our utility bill about 170 a month year over year comparisons. We use home charging 95% of the time.

You ever think about (if it's an option for your situation) putting in enough solar to handle charging your EV's? I've often wondered how long the cost to purchase and install enough solar to charge my EV would take to be paid off and give me "free" charging. In my case, I have a south facing roof over my carport (and live in the country) so I'm actually considering setting something up when the CT gets closer to reality.

Installed tesla solar in Jan this year. Couldn't get 100% of daily use due to rooftop configuration but have two power walls and will be using as much home generated solar as possible to charge the CT once I have it.

I have and looked into it. I am retiring in a year and a half. I have lived in my current home for 23 years and will be selling when I retire and my wife and I will be building our downsized home.

The cost to add the solar and needed systems in our current home will not be recouped in time or increase the market value enough to justify the expense. Our next home though will be solar and ready for our EV future.
