I got tired of looking at all the caliper covers, and how expensive they are, and took the plunge and started painting them myself. I say started, because only got one done today, but looks way better than any cover Iโve seen so far, and no risk of it falling off and causing damage while driving.
The sticker is a Tsport caliper sticker.
Steps:
1. Clean the calipers, I just used store brand brake cleaner. Worked well. Used a lot
2. Sand the calipers with 220, I didnโt do the rear ones, it wouldnโt have helped the overall look at all.
3. Tape off, this is the worst longest part of the whole thing. It took about 15-20 minutes per wheel.
4. Primered the brake caliper with high temp caliper primer. 2 light coats 10 minutes apart, then wait one hour.
5. Sanded with 440p. And cleaned, water and alcohol
5. Painted with high temp caliper paint. 2 light coats, and one medium wet coat, 10 minutes apart, let dry 1 hour
6. Put the stickers on.
7. 3 coats of high temp clear coat, same as the paint.
