Ironically, those from the USA for the most part could care less because they have never heard the name of that company in their entire lives ?

Those who are savvy enough to follow global markets relative to the impact of the performance of these companies in that market will watch for market reactions, no doubt.

But for most in the USA… WTF Renault?!

With a perspective…. And I have been to Europe many times…. Not trying to be THAT guy but being that guy anyway because there is in this case (i believe) a legitimacy to the fact that Renault has literally zero market cap in the USA so most won’t even know to care because they otherwise mean so little here.

Now, if you have a lot of interest in European markets… care maybe? ??ā€ā™‚

Not personally involved much but I think globally Renault is not much of a threat to Tesla for shareholders in the long term on several fronts but markets and opinions will vary and that is the beauty of the diversity of this life we all share.

Cheers

Most ICE car folks I know "from the USA" are well aware of Renault.

Those who know Tesla understand that price and range are only part of the appeal to the brand. They have the best UI, software and charging infrastructure in the business.

Those buying Tesla more often than not have someone they know who can explain this benefit which is in part why Tesla doesn’t have to advertise.

Saving me a few dollars up front and allowing me to go an additional however many miles on a full charge doesn’t equal a pleasant experience in that car. The fact that they only claim embarrassment to the Model Y for the price and range tells me all I need to know.

The Silverado EV can make the same claim against the Cybertruck but we know how ridiculous that comparison is.

Of course you are right. But me being Elon wouldn't like any false advertisement, especially because advertisement where you compare brands to each other isn't when not allowed, at least not tolerated in Europe.

And if Renault has no market in the US, it is one of the biggest car manufacturer in the world having an alliance with Nissan-Mitsubishi. They sold 2,05 million cars in 2022. And in 2023 60-70 % of Teslas are sold outside the US, mainly China and Europe. So I understand that this doesn't interest any US citizen (that has no Tesla shares), but I'm rather sure it is of interest to Elon.
