I've spent a few days with @BASENOR's wireless charging mat and cup holder insert. Here's some feedback and thoughts on both items.

Wireless charging mat
  • Made out of a rubbery material with a small piece of carbon fiber grain on the tip. The overall look is fitting to the CT.
  • It covers the entire wireless charging "shelf" area. I've found this shelf area is one of the few locations in the CT that tends to collect random objects since I do not use it as a phone charger/heater. Since it's close to the cup holders, covering the entire area can potentially prevent liquid damage from accidental spills onto the charger.
  • The charging mat material does not interfere with the wireless charger capability if the wireless charger works for you.
  • IMO there are 3 things that would improve this mat.
    • An increase to the thickness of the material used to create this mat. The mat does not seem to lay flat on the charger and some added thickness will help with that.
    • Add texture to the mat where phones are suppose to be placed to prevent phones from moving during turns. Maybe it'd even charge the phone.
    • I'd personally prefer if this mat did not support or even prevented wireless charging but some may disagree with me on this. I do not use the wireless charger as it only heats my phone, but still like this location as a phone shelf. So if this mat was able to prevent wireless charging, it would provide more usage for this shelf area but I can understand it may not be everyone's preference.
Cup holder insert
  • Made out of a similar rubbery material as the wireless charging mat but with more structural rigidity. It has the same carbon fiber grain on the bottom of each cup area.
  • Divides the cup holder area into 3 separate sections that are not interconnected. I'm using the center location to hold the garage door opener since I'm not a fan of MyQ.
  • Drops into place and provides additional grip to drinks. This works great for metal tumblers but not as well for full plastic bottles as removing my Smartwater bottle also lifted the cup holder insert.
  • I'd prefer if the cup holder insert and the wireless charging mat was a single product that covers the entire section from the wireless charger to the base of the arm rest. It'd provide more surface protection for this entire plastic trim area and may be able to add additional colors to the location if it was produced with other colors. Maybe something that matches the tactical gray trim.
