Posting a quick review of the bed nets that Basenor sent me. They sent me these for free in exchange for a review. But this will be my honest opinion regardless.
Summary:
I was sent 3 nets, a full bed luggage net. A half bed luggage net, and a hanging net for along the rear tailgate. The nets appear properly made without defects. They are very elastic and are likely for light duty applications only. For the listed price, these seem like a reasonable buy for those who want to keep things secure.
Pros:
- Looks
- Very Elastic
- Good fit and tension
- Good size options (1/2, full, hanging)
- Tangle Free (my other net tangles)
- Price ($15.99 - 24.99 is a fair price for the quality)
- You can zip around town faster with less worry of things sliding around.
Cons:
- I’m worried stretchy material with fray easily.
- Cheap carabiners are easy to break
- Cheap material for storage bags
- blocks under bed storage when installed (but you can lift up the hatch still because it’s very stretchy, so not a big deal)
Looks:
They look great. All black nets and black hardware make it look like it belongs on the truck.
Vehicle Fit:
They fit well, stretched just enough to be snug, but not so much they were hard to attach.
Durability:
As light duty nets, I have doubts how long they would last before they started to fray or wear out under heavy loads, or in weather. However, I don’t have any reason to assume they wouldn’t be a good fit for people wanting to use them for basic tasks of keeping stuff from sliding around the bed. The carabiners leave something to be desired. My 8yo son slightly bend the clip in one trying to put it on. The carabiners are very light duty and may be the first thing to fail with a few cycles of coming in and off.
Usability:
I threw the nets on right away. Since they clip on in seconds, that was easy. I had a folding table in the bed that I slid under. The tension was probably not high enough to just hold down the table, but it might have helped it not slide around. I slipped a tool bag and tool box under with the table and it had plenty of stretch to hold them all firmly.
Overall:
I like these nets. I would not have any regret at paying the inexpensive prices. This is my second net I tried and it was much better than the first. Both in for and function.
I hope this helps others decide. Thanks Basenor for sending these over!
