Ok, riddle me this…
Liberty MO supercharger to Hannibal MO Supercharger - 194 miles. So 194 miles with a bummer of 32 miles (10%) has me at 226 miles.
- Why does the it want me to charge to nearly 100%?
- Why does the software tell you how long to charge for the next leg and not what percentage it’s shooting for?
- sitting here at 97% and 307 miles , it’s still charging and says I will make it with 1%?
- why didn’t it keep me on a southern route Highway 70 where there are 2 supercharger locations before shooting up north?

I don’t get it ?‍♂

I have no idea, but here are some things to consider.

It's a 2/3 battery trip. It's going to be longer than a normal 80% ->20% trip.

The Tesla nav is conservative. It wants you to get thee with 15-20%. 1% is not something that even I'd do. (I've been known to target really low numbers)

I can't see the route that the vehicle did pick, so I'm not sure what you meant about route selection.
But if you are asking why not stay on I-70, it's probably because you are already so far north. Yea, I know, see Note:

You may be missing the app that you showed the route. You evidently have a 10-mph headwind. That's going to suggest a 20% reduction in range. It is definitely significant out there in the flatlands.

US 36 could be a 4 or more-lane road with high speed limits, it could be faster than going down to I-70. I don't know and I don't know how you can tell. Somewhat nearby, going from Memphis to Springfield Mo, had some roads that were as fast as the Interstates and much nicer driving.

The nav system gives Supercharger recommendations. They are often far from the only choices or are the routes far from the only choices. Look at it as a suggestion. Add the Concordia Superchager as a waypoint. What happens? Does the nav say that it is possible? What's the arrival time difference?
In most situations, you really should be looking for Superchargers with the amenities that fit you.

Note: And possibly the biggest factor is that ever since they added AI to the nav, it periodically gets stupid. I mean really stupid. Rebuilding the route often gives different responses, significantly different.

If I see nav taking me to over 80%, I do some quick calculations to see if there is a reason, but quickly redo and change it to get something that makes sense.

BUT, always use the nav. While it can make stupid recommendations, it will always watch over you. For example, if you are getting outside the range of any chargers, it will notify you. If by slowing down a little, you can extend your range to reach the charger, it will tell you.
It is Momma Tesla watching out over you.

But after a few afternoon drinks.....
