Anyone out there find rock lamps compatible with the CT? I'm not the car tinker type, but I imagine the 48v system of the CT might create some challenges for the aftermarket.

I don't know what rock lamps are, but they don't sound like a high amperage accessory. Converting 48V to 12V is not something I would consider to be a challenge. And if it's something that requires multiple 12V connections, couldn't you just run three 12V leads in series?

Thanks for the response! Rock lights/lamps. I have these things on my CanAm as well, great for dusk rock crawling:

So to use 12v components there are a few options as I understand it. One is to get a step down converter and mount it someplace like the frunk (apparently a good location because I think there is a way to access the 48v system there and it is protected from the elements--I don't have my CT/CB yet) and then run wires from that step down unit to your 12v components being careful not to overload whatever the capacity of your step down converter is or installing multiple if you need more juice. Apparently another possible solution is to tap into the 7 pin adapter for trailers and run wires but then it could complicate trailer towing if that is something you do with frequency. If not, it may be simpler BUT it could potentially be cosmetically less desirable depending on the adapter you use to tap that supply. This is all theoretical. I have been anxiously awaiting someone to do this and post here as well but nothing thus far which surprises me. Rock lights would be great on the CT. I'm not usually one for wheel ring lights but the CT would lend itself to those as well IMHO, especially for those that did the Tron stripes with their wraps if they want to complete the "lightcycle" look.

I am interested in adding street legal LED lights in front ( high beam assist and fog) and back (reverse lights with additional brake lighting) as well, along with rock lights and maybe more but all that would require a 12v step down at this point as there are no 48v underbody lights out on the market that anyone seems to be aware of... yet. Maybe soon as companies catch on that the CT/CB could be a cash cow for the first company to market with them. I have reached out to a few and only one said they are in early stages of some development for 48v for the CT (XKGlow) but that was when I emailed with a second tier employee. The first tier said they had no options and no plans but the higher up knew a little more and was more enthusiastic. It sounds like the products would be down the line though, nothing soon.

FWIW

As always, if anyone knows of anything I said that is incorrect feel free to chime in and set the record straight.

Cheers
