My impressions:
As I understood it, the Chicago CT within the past few days got transferred to Naperville, IL. So me and wifey (12/11) headed to Orland Park, IL to take a test drive of a Model Y LR which we ordered but decided after to go visit the Naperville store front (30 mins away) for me to finally see the CT in person. My impressions of it may very well differ from other folks as I currently drive a F350 Dually w/ 8' bed. So, its about the size I expected but not large in my view, which may be skewed as I drive a LARGE vehicle daily. Well timed as we showed up at the store on a Monday at 2pm where we signed in and immediately walked in to view the roped off CT then where out in 15-20mins.

A few notable things:
  • If Tesla had kept the 5% larger size this thing would have been f****ng glorious (obviously perspective).
  • Those 35" tires are massive, even from me driving around a large truck.
  • Minor: Rear mirror was present.
Now that the initial onslaught has died down a bit here are a few of my thoughts:
  • If you are a Dual motor CT customer things don't look all that bad even with a price increase that comes close to somewhat close to inflation by matching most original specs.
  • If you are a Tri motor customer, its way far off of the original specs. To get close to the original specs its now close to $115k, huge huge miss. Mostly because you have to add it the range extender at $16K+ and then can no longer carry 8' material (tailgate down) in the bed due to the space being consumed by the extender. Shush I am bias on this.
I do really wish that the storage tub underneath the bed could have been utilized for a storage extender rather than the actual bed. This would have kept it far more WORK friendly and yes I understand it wouldn't have added as much range as the bed based extender. Of possibly zero value, a high voltage electrical socket in the tub could have been designed for a user replaceable battery being it would (though still very heavy) have been possibly user install/removable as needed. A mini-extender per say.

If requested, I'll post pics but its nothing everyone here has not already seen.

Few drinks deep tonight so may be making grammar edits in the morning, LOL.
