Ok with a giant ass windshield that we have, I know some of you have put a UV blocking light window tint on your windshield…. Myself included. However, it still gets damn hot on pavement parking lots. My area can hit up to 105 in summer at times, which I know many fo you have it worst in Arizona, Nevada, etc.

With that is there a windshield shade option coming? Or someone know of one? And if one is coming how the hell will it work/fold up cleaningly so it isn’t taking up so much damn room. This might be a wish list item that just isn’t realistic for normal usage.

Good point hopefully they make one of those umbrella like windshield shades. I don’t know how effective those are. WeatherTech makes good sunshades that roll up but still take up a lot of space. I have emailed them asking them if they have any ETA on cyber truck products but as of right now they don’t have one. Apparently we can put in a request to have CT accessories made and they’ll put more focus into it if there’s a lot of demand.

I parked my cyber truck, went to a movie at 3:00 p.m. in the Phoenix area and came out and my screen would not turn on. I was able to drive home with no screen but I think it was cuz the heat. The back of the monitor was crazy hot. Service is going to look at it but I assume it's the heat so I need a sunshade for sure or some really good tint.

Service gave me the trick to hold down both wheels for 15 seconds on the steering wheel for a soft reboot and that did it. Of course it was cooled down by then.

I live in SC, not quite as hot, but hot enough. I would recommend the following…

1. Put a ceramic tint on the windshield. I used a very low tint, but the ceramic is still very effective at blocking heat. I didn’t do this on my Model X and it’s making a big difference in the truck already. The days of sweating when the sun hits you directly through the windshield are gone!

2. Cabin overheat protection is available now. Set that to keep things cool. It won’t have to run as much with the windshield tint.

3. The truck (foundation series) comes with a sun shade for the back glass. I don’t use it, but it would probably help.

I was about to order one and noticed they said it was two pieces. Do they use suction cups, because I don’t really want to fiddle with those. What happens with the seam between the sections? Is it a top/bottom set up or a left/right set up?

If you live somewhere where there is real heat, none of your points have any real merit.

I am in the southwest (Vegas) where we hit our first 100+ day and I also have ceramic tint(windshield included), cabin overheat protection set to 90F, with the roof glass shade and even then my screen sometimes would not turn on in extreme heat.

Especially during the middle of the day. What I now do is precondition the cabin with the lowest possible setting before I get in the car.
