Tesla Charging

I'm sorry if this has been answered before. I charge at home. When I travel, I Uber to the airport and back home, so I'm kind of out of the loop regarding charging stations.

But I've seen online people before charging they take the charger head and pretty much assault they're tesla with it before charging.

Long story short, there are some new V4 chargers where I live. I used one for 10 minutes just to see the difference, and a M3 used one a few stalls down. I heard this noise and sure enough, he was pounding the charger head into his car before charging. What am I missing here? Is there benefits for doing this?

It's a dumb tick tok thing that people started when Teslas were first getting popular. I believe the original said it was bad luck to charge without tapping 3 times.

It does nothing good.
