I endured the hour-long wait for a live rep and I was curious about two items: any information on initial deliveries of the cyberbeast foundation series and if someone wanted to change their foundation series order from a beast to dual motor, would they keep their same order date in the dual motor queue or would they be losing their "spot in line" and entering the queue with today's date.

  1. Tesla's rep let me know that despite initial cyberbeast foundation series delivery estimates in the first batch of invites on 12/8, the beast isn't expected to begin making deliveries until April at the earliest, but later in the middle of the year could be possible. He couldn't confirm how many dual motor foundation series are being produced, but it was clear that cyberbeast production is a secondary priority to the FS dual motor, at least for now.
  2. Based on this news and the fact that I ordered a CB on 12/8 in the first batch, I asked the rep if I could switch to a dual motor and keep my first batch spot in the line...he didn't think it would be possible and cited Tesla's previous policy of creating a new order when existing orders call in to make a change, effectively moving back in line as a result. I've waited 4 years - what's another 6 months?
Despite being bummed about this extended delivery timeframe, I've been watching almost all of the YouTube review content and there certainly seem to be plenty of typical Tesla early model issues/software problems. Maybe the CB will be able to benefit from all of the dual motor earliest adopters.

If you can afford CB. I would wait. It's more awesome and you'll still get it before us poors.

That does tend to clarify that the early orders that suggested Beast would be early, got changed. It seems to match the current ordering information of Beast in 2nd Half this year. And RWD in 2025.

Thank you for spending the time and sharing the info.
That is exactly what I was going to call to ask myself.
And, arrived at the same decision that you did with the CB. I always try NOT to buy the first model year, but this is just as effective I hope. (Also, maybe the price will reduce. . Ha ha ha)
