Ok this may be a dumb couple of questions but:
1. Would wrapping the CT protect the stainless steal from rust and/or corrosion?
2. If the wraps I've been seeing are fabric wraps does that mean that a sharp edge could cut, tear or rip the wrap (exposing the stainless steal?)

Thanks

The wrap wull helps against surface rust, but surface rust is only superficial and can be easily removed so long you don't leave it on the there for months.

The wrap is obviously not as tough or hardwearing as the Stainless.

Also a dark colour wraps will add to air conditioning load both summer and winter, and can reduce your range from running the HVAC more. You can of course drive slower instead. ;-)

This rusting issue always take some time to form and is not a problem as long as it’s removed in a timely manner. Iā€˜d be concerned if you had rusting but it was too small to notice. If you wrapped it… well hopefully no air or more moisture would get thru. Not sure if it would continue rusting under the wrap.

I guess if I had a CT I’d make damn sure it was clean before any wrapping.

I personally don’t see the point of spending additional $$$$ to cover up the extremely durable SS panels with a vinyl wrap or PPF. I love the industrial vibe of the bare stainless panels.

The stainless looks great, the rust stuff you see out there is not an issue, however the FINGERPRINTS are.
I plan on using a coating like protectaclear etc to keep the SS look, avoid a 7k wrap, and not have the thing look like a fingerprint nightmare.

Mine going non wrap for a different reason. Have full PPF on both S/3, and a naked Y.

Driving through forest one gets branches that stick out. A slight touch at the front fender, and then carries the whole legnth of the car. PPF does fine. Yet I may have to get out the hair dryer as it will leave a mark.

Vinyl I think would last one season for my use case.

Don't think any issues with a similar situation with the stainless.

Looks like you need a mower, not a hairdryer. ;-)

I don't see the value in spending $5 to $7k for a wrap on a stainless steel CT. Maybe if it was painted or I just wanted a color change. For me, it would be hard to justify it. With that said I have seen some pretty sweet color changes to the CT.
