I just got my VIN while checking the app on an airplane for a work trip!

I need some guidance from some veterans. I’ve read that I can tell them that I’ll bring proof of insurance and payment/cashiers check to my pickup (Pleasant Grove) but don’t see a way to tell them that so I can move forward with the process and schedule a delivery. Any guidance?

Also, the last four of my VIN are 8454 in case anybody has seen this baby at the lot.

Super excited!
You should provide all the information first.
But you won't be able to schedule delivery until they schedule it for you. Yes, I know stupid, just the way it is.

Get the insurance rider for the Cybertruck from your insurer. Enter it in. Are you putting any money down or paying with third part loan or in full? You can get all of that done beforehand.
Doing that all makes the process easier and faster.
They will not allow you to take the truck until they have proof of insurance.

But the biggest answer is that they will reach out and offer you a pickup date/time. You can probably push that further into the future if needed (by only a few days).

Just chill, you are still in the waiting game, it may take weeks or even a month. Your Cybertruck was still in Austin when you got the VIN.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I’ll input the insurance today but for the payment I’m paying cash (cashier’s check) so how do I handle that through the app?

In Utah you do not have to have your Cybertruck listed on your insurance policy at time of purchase. A photo of your current insurance card will suffice.

The app will continue to ask for payment. Don’t worry about it. Just bring your cashiers check with you when you pick up your truck. This will not delay your delivery at all.

You should be able to wait, but just follow the steps and information in the app, it tends to answer most questions.

Does anyone have a number to text Pleasant grove about payment details? The app only allows for a payment to be made, no discussion about paying at pickup.

So you don’t need to complete it, or communicate with them separately, to make sure the process keeps moving forward?

Also, I’m heading out of the country in two weeks (for a week). I’m assuming that is something that I want to communicate to someone in case delivery times up with my trip. Would that be the service center I need to speak with?

Not until they have possession of it in PG. They reached out to me.

I took delivery 9 days after VIN assignment, so you could probably get it before your trip

You speak to someone by replying to any text message that you got or through the app.

Going out of the country has been problematic in the past.

Have followed this tread from the first post. Thank you all for the information and entertainment so far :)

* first 5 of RN

* date you configured your truck
2024.01.01

* date you got your VIN
2024.04.27

* VIN Number range

* Date you took delivery (if applicable)
No date yet

* Configuration
All-Wheel Drive

Used the app to message the delivery team asking if it would be possible to take delivery prior to 2024.05.19 so we could take the Cybertruck on a camping trip we have planned. They replied quickly saying “Your vehicle is currently in Texas awaiting transport. We hope to have it onsite and delivered before your camping trip, but at this time, I don't want to make any guarantees” which I think is totally fair. They are not in control of how quickly that thing gets loaded and delivered to them. My experiences with our Model X when it comes to communication via the Tesla app has been great. We have had a number of service appointments at the Salt Lake City Service Center and the team there has been amazing. For those asking about communication, like others have said on here, just use the app. The team will get back with you as they get through the messages through the day/week.

Saw some questions on here about Powershare so wanted to give context about the configuration we have and how it impacted our answers to the Powershare surveys and the final outcome of those surveys. We had solar and Powerwalls installed in October of 2018. Installed two Gen 3 Wall Connectors Summer of 2020. Took Delivery of the Model X September of 2020.

I didn’t take screenshots of all the survey questions but with the above info we answered that we have Powerwalls, have solar, that the Wall Connectors are Gen 3 and are also on backup from the Powerwalls which is required for Powershare to work, and that they are wired with 240 volt.

On 2024.01.04 got an email tiled “Power Your Home With Your Cybertruck” that had the following and a link to a survey:

Install Powershare Home Backup

Powershare Home Backup allows you to power your home with the energy stored in your Cybertruck’s battery pack, helping keep the lights on for up to three days when outages occur.*

Your order is eligible for free Powershare Home Backup hardware—you just cover the installation cost. Take our survey to confirm your interest.** We will reach out to you with more information and connect you with a Tesla Certified Installer.

*Based on an average daily home energy usage of 30 kWh per day.
**Eligibility based on installation feasibility at your home.

On 2024.02.02 got an email tiled “Update: Powershare Home Backup Eligibility” with had the following:

Thank you for completing the Powershare Home Backup survey. Your order is eligible for Powershare Home Backup hardware installation. Once your VIN is assigned and your delivery is scheduled, we will match you with a Tesla Certified Installer who will reach out to you to schedule a site visit. You will receive a follow-up email from Tesla once you have been matched with an installer.

On 2024.03.04 got an email tiled “Update on Powershare Home Backup Survey” which had the following with a link to a survey:

Thank you for completing the Powershare Home Backup survey.

Because you already have Powerwall and home charging installed, we need additional information to determine if your home is already configured for Home Backup.

Once you submit the survey, we will reach out to you with more information.

On 2024.03.28 got an email tiled “Update: Powershare Home Backup Survey” with the following:

Thank you for completing the Powershare Home Backup survey.

Since you have Powerwall installed, your home is already on the way to being fully configured for Powershare Home Backup functionality but may require additional home charging equipment to complete your set up.

To finalize your setup, your home charging needs to be backed up by your Powerwall. Home Backup is compatible with any home charging unit, but 240V charging will provide the best experience. Our recommended home charging solutions are Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector. Home Backup will be available with a software update expected in June. In the meantime, you will still be able to charge your Cybertruck at home.

In place of the Home Backup equipment, we’ll be providing you with a one-time use $700 Tesla Shop voucher. You can use this to purchase home charging to complete your Home Backup setup – or to purchase other charging equipment, apparel, accessories and more. This voucher can only be used once and any unused balance remaining after the transaction will be forfeited. This will be provided to you within two weeks after your Cybertruck delivery.

Here at Pleasant Grove Tesla picking up my Cybertruck! 😊

Two interesting things:

1) there are 40 Cybertruck here (between this lot, the one across the highway, and one they have in Lehi).
2) The service center guy is telling me that people have six months to decide if they want the truck after they get their VIN, which is why so many are here. I tried to push back against him that that is very different from what I have read, but he seems convinced.

Not sure what is true, but thought I’d share.

Of course they send request to schedule delivery while I am out of town for work! For those asking about timing between getting VIN assignment and taking delivery, I could have taken delivery on Monday 2024.05.06 which would have made it 9 days.
