It’s mostly their incredible hate of Elon, but regardless, their article about the Cybertruck was pretty bad.

People remember what they want to.....l remember the 'backlash' of RIVIAN reservation holders. Somewhere around 50% cancelled. RJ got onto the back foot the next day and reversed the price increase. So today we find ourselves in a different space and time. I don't see Elon changing the decision to raise prices. There are many factors in play .....

But there's alot of disappointment in the forum here, very noticeable.

Sorry! I posted the link for that reason.

There is, but I’d say it’s less than what I’ve just read on the Reddit forum and I don’t think I’ve ever read a positive post regarding Tesla from Vice, ever!

For me, personally, I’m not surprised at the price changes, nor the mileage downgrades; for daily driving, I don’t use nearly any range and have gotten used to charging at home.

I’m honestly hoping that battery-powered trailers begin to become the norm. That would reduce range anxiety significantly.

The single-motor and dual-motor didn't get a range downgrade.

And Tesla hasn't released multiple battery packs at once in a long time, it was probably expecting too much at launch.

You’re right on the range - my mistake. Nah, we were all expecting a lot. With inflation and how ouch high-end trucks go for (like Raptors and the like), I wasn’t surprised at the prices. Maybe I was a little bummed that my”hopeium” didn’t work out for the prices, but I was not surprised at all. ?

Do I think you expected too much? Well, I don’t know you, but I don’t. I think after a few weeks people will be a little more accepting of it. I AM hoping, however, that it gets better with time. For example, I’m still HOPING their Semi and CT get the 1MW Charging speed when those chargers eventually roll out.

I watched a video of the gentleman that does the JerryRigEverything (on Kim Java’s channel) day “it’s a more expensive version of my Rivian and has the same capability.” Is he right? Sure, but he missed one thing. The Rivian doesn’t have access to the supercharger network (yet), and that makes the biggest difference for me, still. As Tesla upgrades their chargers, it’ll only get better.

That’s my long-winded two cents. :”?

Chat GTP is getting better at writing articles. He is saying “up to 500” miles range was promised but CT1 and CT2 didn’t deliver. Then he says CT2 is twice as expensive as announce price (not 60% more). A human writer does not make those mistakes.

The take away for me (not from article but delivery event) is real disruption in truck market comes from producing more affordable AND more capable trucks than ICE in a way that is just as profitable for the company. And as of now, neither legacy automakers nor new ones are able to do that. Hopefully they still intend to and the tech will be at a place that will make it possible before they completely give up.

If it’s Rivian to all wheel drive cyber truck, then no, he’s not right.

If it’s Quad motor Rivian to cyber beast truck, then it is more expensive.
