Yeah, that's a gas car, I don't know how you can compare it to a pure electric drive. Even a Ferrari feels clunky and ancient compared to Tesla's least expensive car, the Model 3. This is the 21st century! Even my Ducati motorcycles have lost their appeal. I think the formerly intoxicating sound of the 90 degree V-twin desmodromic engine was only intoxicating because I associated that sound with a powerful forward thrust. Now that I know that sound is not necessary, and I get more instantaneous throttle response from a pure electric drivetrain, the combustion engine just feels like an antique, not as bad as a farm implement, but along those lines in comparison to the whir and instant response of electric.

I don't understand people who still wax poetic about outdated technology, even if it once was state-of-the-art. There's nothing like the "clip-clop" of horse hooves on cobblestones either, am I right? ;)
I am in the exact same boat. All other cars that aren't EVs have been ruined for me.

And just to be clear, I had a 2017 Model S 100D, and it was the same: punch it once on every drive, instant smile. Then set FSD and let it drive lol...

OK it has been a while and even though I said I wouldn't, I still continue to read all the new posts so I thought I would do my part and post my thoughts at 4K miles in. Buckle up as this will be long.

Overall thoughts at 4K miles - love it more today than I did 4K miles ago!!!!

TRIPS: I have only made one long trip so far to Moab. Two days after I got it. I was about to skip it because it was new but then decided wait I bought this for exactly this type of trip so off we went. 4 guys, 4 mountain bikes, four sets of golf clubs and all the other crap - full bed. Two significant take-aways from the trip: 1) Used a Yakima 4 bike Stand Up rack which worked great but created a charging challenge. Same issue anyone with a trailer has although I was able to squeeze the bike rack between two chargers but only had about an inch to spare on either side. Tesla definitely needs to set up different charging options for the CT. 2) Super charging is expensive :) I was fortunate that my S had unlimited free supercharging and had no idea how much it costs. For sure less than gas but was surprised at the cost. I probably should have traded my S in for a Y to keep that free supercharging.

SERVICE: I got the cameras are out of alignment no FSD and then the one motor is not working error message so I had to make a service appointment. The camera issue was fixed. They could not replicate the motor issue but had the car for a week and all the diagnostics were clean and have had no issues since. Also was able to get the weather stripping on the tonneau fixed as it was pulling off. Unfortunately, the wiper recall came out exactly when I was in for service and they didn't have the parts so no luck on that front but also have had no issues.

TINT AND WRAP: I fully intended not to wrap my truck. After washing the aircraft carrier multiple times I decided to wrap it. I didn't really have any issues with the fingerprints but rather the rain spots. I went for the more expensive PPF wrap and I (and everyone that sees it) absolutely love it. A quick shout out to Advanced Industries here in town that did an amazing job on the wrap (STek Matte Black) and Window Tinting (45% on Windshield which I highly recommend and then 70-30 on the windows). If you are in Denver Advanced Industries knows Cyber Trucks.

ACCESSORIES:

- Seat Covers: I noticed with all the sunscreen the black leather was starting to get white spots and decided I had best cover the seats before I ruined them. I bought these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4M6PSVZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and they are awesome. My wife likes them better than the original and they fit like a glove. 10/10 rating for these. There was a $30 off coupon on prime day that I missed but still worth the full price.

- Frunk Pad - the frunk is amazing for sitting and drinking adult beverages. The only thing missing is a cushion and I found these on Amazon for less than I could make them for. 10/10 rating here as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1M9T7C2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

- Iphone Mount and Charger - after cooking my phone I bought T-Sportlines mount and charger here https://tsportline.com/collections/...mount-wireless-charger?variant=47788268585249. Pricey but again 10/10 rarting on this as well.

- Foundation Logo's from T-Sportline - I went with gloss black on the logos on top of my Matte Black wrap. T-Sportline logos have no backing and this was indeed my mistake as it says it on the website but without backing these are almost unusable. I had to buy two replacement logos as T-Sportline non-backed logos didn't work. 3/10 ranking here. They did offer to resend at a discount but that series font is so small I just don't recommend this.

- Bumper Protectors - bought these from EV-VIDA. https://ev-vida.store/products/rear...CvlOJUvx6FLrHvySDxeULmVDrfyTpEQzekqAbcYEzG87t highly recommend. 9/10 ranking here - would be 10/10 if I didn't have to come up with my own strategy to get the double sided tape off. Great tape but almost self healing so very hard to remove. Ended up slicing the tape at midpoint with a razor and that allowed easy removal.

- Under-seat storage from Tesla - finally catered and bought this. 7/10 ranking due to price - ridiculous at $250 and also needs dividers.

- Bed storage: these have been posted elsewhere https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-2...ner-with-Hinged-Lid-in-Black-246841/312898941 but three fit across perfectly. The only issue is it is hard to get into them when you have three across so I just leave the clips off except for the back facing ones. 8/10 ranking here for clip issue.

- Truck bed bar: AKA the $25 Vault Cargo Divider https://www.harborfreight.com/ratcheting-cargo-bar-96811.html Highly recommend this one 10/10 based on price alone.

CAUTION!! AND DESIRED UPGRADE : I like the "entry" mode and immediate set it to default to entry mode while parked in the settings but CAUTION you can jack up the front end if you do this. I have already heard of one person who has as the truck settled on a curb. So I immediately removed this setting. It would be great if we could set it to entry just at home. Last I checked that was not an option. Hopefully soon.

That is all for now. What a BEAST!!!!!

Congrats!!!! If you make it to NoCo (Ft Collins or anywhere close) anytime in the near future and have 5 minutes to burn letting someone drool on your truck, hit me up, lol! Day 62 since beast config and I'm fraying at the edges! I saw a CT yesterday downtown, killing me....
We’re taking delivery of our Beast in Aurora 8/3. We all need to meet up somewhere for happy hour.

Fantastic!! I’ll start a meet up post here the week after we take delivery and tag you. We’ll pick a place in Fort Collins since I think that’s a good midway point.

If anyone else is in the northern Colorado or Cheyenne area and you’re interested in meeting up, let me know. I’ll tag you in a post.
