Exactly. Plus, that site isn't a government site, so it doesn't help. All the government sites I've found that cite it are either "weigh less than" or mention GVWR (which as described, isn't the same).

I do appreciate the attempt at help :).

What I'm hoping (knowing it's unlikely) to find is someone who has already done this that I can reference (or could provide any documentation they referenced, if applicable). I generally despise working with the MX government, they're stereotypically a pretty corrupt bunch and just make up their own rules as they go. Which may work in my favor in this case, since most of those rules can be changed with cash lol. I know of at least one person who did this exact same and got his permit after paying an extra $300.
I'm a little shocked how much the price of a bribe in Mexico has inflated. I remember when $5 went a long way (and I was reluctant to pay that out of principle).

Lol; I dunno how long ago that (my example) was, but I'm sure it's gone quite a bit higher as they realize $5 is nothing to most Americans (and how very willing most Americans are to pay their way out of issues).

That was in the 1980's when the typical Mexican schoolteacher/policeman had a salary of about $30USD/month.
