Visiting Reno; someone opened my charge port and put a rock and a sticker inside?

As a long time Burner (that be Burning Man) I'm collecting all of these little tchotchkes left by frustrated people on my Beast and I'm going to make an art project for the 2026 event. I'll reach out to this forum later this year for others that might like to donate....

Man, now that I think of it the CT seems perfect to go to BM with. Send pics!

Right? It shouldn't have opened the charge port if the car was locked, should it?
Fairly sure that HPWC handle requires the vehicle be unlocked to open the charge port or remove the charge handle, but the SC handle can open the charge port regardless of the vehicle lock. SC handle does require the vehicle be unlocked to remove the charge handle from the port however.

Has anyone else had this happen? The guy walks up and the chargeport opens as he walks up, as if he had a remote? Weird.

Sounds like an oppty for software enhancement:

“Pin to open chargeport”
With “ignore at home” option.

App requests pin when charge port is opened…

Yeah, I have my CT set to lock on walk-away, and sentry is always active. I parked outside of a spot called the Glass Die (drink beer, play board games/D&D). I would have expected the truck to be locked. I was at least 50ft away, inside the building.
When I watch the footage, the charge port cover opens on its own, and the guy approaches from the diagonal opposite side of the street -I thought that was quite a distance.

Then, he goes into the same building I was in, and an hour later, he comes back out with the sticker and again, the charge port cover opens with him about 30 ft away.

Right? It shouldn't have opened the charge port if the car was locked, should it?
I open the charge port on my wife's locked Model 3 Performance all the time, simply by using the button on the handle of the Wall Connector (when I don't have a phone key or any other device on me).

This is not a security problem because the charge port security is built into the car, not the charge port door. It's like gas cars that had a locking gas cap. You can open the door, but you can't access the tank. Even if the door was designed to be secure, it would be easy for someone with bad intentions to rip it open. Then you would have a broken charge port door.

A big nothing burger by Tesla haters without a life.
