Lose the diaper design and make a tow cover that doesn’t require supine positioning in the dirt and a screwdriver to open.

OEM electric rear view mirror that does not feel improvised, tail gate camera gets blurry with other vehicles in close proximity( at night). Also wish for more efficiency in 70-80 MPH range, get closer mile on road for mile displayed. Many speed limits in 75MPH range. Trip to Flagstaff from Phoenix started with battery 240 miles, completed 123 mile trip with 25 miles left. Finally 400 in bank would maybe offset previous issue, but would also be a welcome addition.

I love my truck, even after almost a year owning it I still try to find reasons to drive it needlessly. Tesla did a wonderful thing making it but there are some misses. Some wishes and dreams truck and Tesla related:
  • I do occasionally need to tow - need more range! Additionally, I do find myself in situations that require me to plan battery use quite diligently, Tesla originally stated 500mi+ range, even 400mi would make things a lot easier.
  • Built-in sun shades as in: opaque glass in windshield and roof. Perhaps not easy to combine with safety glass but hey, Tesla innovates, no?
  • Need to be able to turn off that stupid front running day light bar; it’s a hazard in fog and rain.
  • The light bar looks good but is a joke in practice - beef up them lumens!
  • With the tail down, that rear camera is useless - a swivel camera or something else smart is really needed. A camera on top of the roof facing the rear would be great. Too many times I have a 2x4 by “something long” that sticks out and I can’t see shit. (Correction, I _only_ see shit because that camera is now looking at the ground).
  • CB is mostly front drive. I like rear drive sometimes - why not offer two settings or perhaps a slider that goes from “mostly front to mostly rear” drive to customize your ride.
  • Front and rear seats to go entirely horizontal or provide entirely horizontal space to sleep.
  • I can never find them USB connectors in the dark. Why not have a little LED indicating position?
  • The seats…. are…NOT…comfortable. For short trips they are peachy. For long ones they are not befitting the quality one may expect from a 100k or more vehicle.
  • Front lights with heaters so the snow melts while driving!
  • That little LED in the front speakers to indicate your blind spot? Yah, way too small. With a bit of sun, I don’t see that thang.
  • Software issues. There are so dang many (just a few here):
    • The UI is a mess. Dialogs stacked on top of dialogs without alignment or a clear fluid flow how they fit. That rear mirror camera overlapping music, message dialog hanging over the car info dialog etc. Take a few lessons from CarPlay and Android Auto I’d say. (Or perhaps support it!).
    • Voice command for light bar on/off. Really! When I need it to give me just a few more candles, I am usually needing to keep my hands on the wheel and not poking through menus.
    • More voice commands to adjust navigation while navigating. Currently I always need to ask my passenger “find me an exit for such and so” (or some other nav change) with heavy traffic I don’t want to be doodling on the display.
    • Music/sound favorites; should not be sorted by source but by my preference regardless what source it is attached to.
    • When I step in the truck, turn the damn radio off. Right now it’s a crap shoot what it does, mostly plays what I had last on even if I turned that off before leaving the truck.
    • Auto route what is in your calendar is great but when you arrive and have selected “end route” it will still try to “get you there” if it perceives your sorta in the calendar time frame. Weirdly stupidly implemented.
    • A couple of “customizable buttons” that let you quickly switch your settings. I often need to: turn of climate, turn of close on walk away, turn off sentry alarm and turn on bed power - all at once. Then returning, I need to invert all those settings. Is getting a bit old constantly poking through the menus. Some customizable buttons that lets you program any setting as a collection would be great.
    • That iOS app and shortcuts and watch app needs a lot of love. We have multiple Tesla vehicles, solar and chargers and this thing is a mess - just too many bugs. Specifically for the cybertruck, the shortcuts are cool but many settings are not implemented - those custom buttons I mentioned above; could be implemented in a shortcut if they supported all that. (No sentry mode in short cut, no climate off, no turn off auto close)

This one is prolly a little “out there”; Slip Stream Driving Mode. I often need to drive San Diego to San Fran. With my former ICE guzzler I would often “park” myself fairly close behind a truck and let my radar match the speed. On the long stretch on the I5 this saved many many gallons. FSD has made this drive a heck of a lot more enjoyable. However with our trucks/Teslas we could do this so much better - with the cars communicating distances, speeds etc. we could just form an ad hoc “train” and save major amount of energy. I can see uGSD doing this at some point.

And with all that, the truck is still a pleasure to drive. My 2 ct anyway, not that it matters (Tesla isn’t listening/caring) but at least I got it off my chest :)

Kenneth,
My FSD (13.2.9) allows me to bring down the max speed of the FSD with the right scroll wheel. It does reset each time it sees a new speed limit sign though.
This is set with an offset in the settings. # miles over, or #% miles over.
I had to disconnect 5 times today, because it will not stay at the max speed set. I’m on a highway, no one in front of me, I push the gas pedal up to my max speed, then after a second or 2 it drifts back down. I’d rather just have no FSD and just cruise control, sometimes.

Along with a camera that works with the tailgate down, how about making the tail gate vertical instead of angled away from the bumper. This is a PIA when trying to step over the tailgate and onto the bumper from inside the bed! Tilt screen like in Model X, doesn't have to be power. Agree with all other suggestions!

"What is running" selection in the app and main screen so you can see what is using energy.
Very helpful if you're wondering what is discharging while parked.

Massage seats, heads-up display, video rear view mirror, good brakes, and much less sensitive driver-awareness trigger for autopilot driving. You ought to be able to check a text message, adjust the temperature, change the radio without being dinged for not paying attention. When will the time come that autopilot allows you to relax? Oh, and they need a button for people who flip you off or worse. Maybe a squirt gun feature?

Dog mode switching all inside door and window switches off so my dogs cannot open the doors or windows. They are always getting tormented by passers by and opening the door. That door stays closed for their (peoples) safety. I would also like to see an option so during winter it is possible to turn on the heat, and also marker lights at the same time.
Absolutely never going to happen; this is a egress safety issue.

You can buy or make button covers, though.

Dog Mode definitely needs an upgrade.Actually super practical suggestions. ?

Able to adjust FSD speed you want with the scroll wheel. My scroll wheel is un-responsive and FSD does NOT stay where i set.
The right wheel adjusts the FSD and ACC speed. If yours does not, try a reboot and then SC visit.
