@Unpluggedperformance, this was great!

Can you please provide a video showing the quick disconnects? Install and using them?

Also, except for quick shots at the end of the video, it hardly showed any offroading other than "Baja" types. I would love to see more full articulation like at the end of the video (although I understand it's tough until we get a software update for the lockers).

Yea, I definitely needed to figure out what was on that hood... I was like, "no way" did they stick that to the hood of a Tesla. :LOL:
Luckily, it was not what I thought it was.

Great video!

We've just posted the video of our experience at King of the Hammers. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Honestly the Cybertruck looks kind of weak even if your video quality is good. Let's face it, the Cybertruck is more of an urban vehicle than a Rivian or many Subarus. My wife's Subaru Forester Wilderness would destroy that creaking urban vehicle on the same mild challenge.

Think about it - Highly tuned torque vectoring + cross linked suspension + electronically detachable sway bars + steer by wire + metal body + pressurized battery for wading + longer wheel base + instant torque + skid plate + adjustable height + rear wheel steering + crab walk + great ground clearance + superior arrival/departure angle + independent motors and suspension.. the list goes on. Few minor hardware tweaks and some software update is all that’s needed.

Time will tell. I’ll bookmark this post to check back in the future. IMO, CT is going to be the best off-roader in the future. Don’t confuse existing Powers with future Potential! Cybertruck is just getting started!

Do you think that based on the fact that it is an EV truck with a good amount of clearance or an EV in general. I think an EV side by side at 1/5th the weight would be far more capable with a lot of the same torque benefits.

Take my money 💰 😂 such a blessing that Tesla has UP dedicated to tuning. Can they turn my Ioniq 5 into a rally car too?

The only thing this video will do is cause a bunch of tech bros to break their CTs in the middle of nowhere trying to make cool videos like this. It’s definitely a long road to modifying many of the CT’s weak stock components to allow it to endure this kind of abuse on a regular basis. If I did stuff like this with my CT or Rivian I would be throwing time and money away constantly fixing things. If you’re in a place like Moab where your only option might be trailering 200+ miles to an authorized service center then you’re going to drive an ICE Ford or Jeep when doing any serious off roading.

I agree that any Outback/Forester could do most of what they showed. The CT doesn’t even have functioning lockers yet but it’s nice to get some hype behind the CT’s potential so we’ll see. It still weighs almost 7k lb.

There is no one size fit all. If we are talking about extreme off roading, then yes a side by side EV might be superior, but someone could say a dirt bike is even better for a much steeper and harsh terrain. We just have to consider our priorities and the level of off-roading we do. I go with 80-20 rule. In the future, for all the reasons I mentioned, CT should suffice 80% of off-roading folks. Majority of Truck owners fall into this category. 20% extreme off-roaders might need a dedicated setup. Who knows, Tesla might eventually launch a side by side off roader that has 1/5th the weight and the cost! We might be able to load that in CT truck and go do some extreme off-roading. That’ll be sweet.
