Since Teslas can "see" the road in front of themselves, it would be neat if they could automatically adjust the aim of the headlights to just illuminate your lane and only so far ahead (in traffic). I mean, a couple of motorized headlight mounts and some controlling software and there you go. LEDs also could be used to do fancy illumination tricks like pedestrian crosswalks, shadowing out other cars so drivers don't get blinded, etc.
The technology exists. Last I heard, it's not legal in the US yet.
Looks like Adaptive Driving Beams have recently been approved in the US.

I don't think they will include the light bar that most won't use one regular basis. A non directed light pattern screams safety risk at night blinding everyone in it's path. Also will save on overall cost and complexity if not included. I rather have hookups for aux lights as standard.

That's what matrix adaptive lighting does.

And it's already on existing Tesla.

It's still directed, it could be part of the matrix control.

This is more or less what matrix headlights do. Some of the newer Teslas have them. I think all of the European made Model Ys do.

I was aware of matrix led headlights which is why I mentioned it. I didn't realize that some Teslas already would limit their lights to their lane and blackout, for instance, the rear window and mirrors of the car in front of you in your lane so you don't blind them. Cool.

I can tell you my Model Y does NOT direct its headlights away from other cars. It does, however, flash from bright lights to dims repeatedly irritatingly through my neighborhood.

One of the recent updates on my Y defaults the headlights to auto hi beam and it's incredibly annoying. I hate being 'that guy' driving down the road hi beaming everyone. I feel like it's going to get me 1 finger saluted.

Ithat’s what happened to me as well with Auto lights in the past. Super sensitive it seemed, but now, I’ve had really damn good experiences with them as of late. Went to Fort bragg not too long ago to go on a nice trip with my wife and we truly enjoyed the Auto lights going through the Mountains with oncoming traffic as well. It’s a constant on off on off and the timing was spot on. Super impressed. My wife even mentioned how well they were working as I was driving. She definitely took notice. So, so far so good. As for light bar,
I’m a big fan of the laser light bar and my sons are too. We talk about how we appreciate Tesla including the light bar as standard OEM. I’d like to also state they are truly helpful in many situations and like high beams, when appropriate, you can have on. But, why would we not have high beams? Also, why are high beams not an option? Yup, cuz they are super useful and should be standard. Well, same with light bar. Should be standard on all trucks in my opinion and honestly, I’m shocked they are not and have always been 3rd party. So Tesla again goes the xtra mile to make it standard and since we were told they would be, I believe Elon and am expecting them to be until I hear otherwise.

There isn’t anything “laser” about the laser light bar, is there? Coherent single-frequency light would be a disadvantage, especially if focused down to a small point or even tens of small points. I’d like this feature for camping, but hope for white (multiple frequency) diffuse light to uniformly illuminate a large area in front of the truck.

Laser does sound cool, so maybe a new name that’s also cool, but not misleading. Not Big Ass Lightbar or BAL, something better.

There's a new type of lamp with is an led laser pointed at a bulb of phosphor to energize it to a high level. It's very bright and fairly efficient.

If you are a real person, say something to prove you are not a troll or a bot.

Copy/ pasting the same OT post is way uncool.
