Would you like free power to charge your EV if you can keep it plugged in for certain peak periods as well?

Network capacity payments can be worth $170,000 per MW per year. That would pay off 3 CTs in a year by itself.
Capacity, not just energy, is worth something too. (If your market has them or not)

Are you the only one in the household?

Do you have refrigerator freezer?
A small house battery combined with a large vehicle battery would work in many instances. Victron makes inverter/chargers that can manage dual power input smoothly.

This is what most people care about. Super fancy auto-connect that happens instantly and costs 10,000 or more are not going to be popular.

Tesla Powerwall+
$8,500 13.5 kWh Powerwall+ (includes integrated solar inverter)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Powerwall

That is today's price for low volume production product that is using expensive lithium-ion ternary type cells ( cell type NCA/NMC 2170s. NOT LFPs).

Soon, with high volume production, a stationary energy storage product that could do V2H, solar controller, grid input (but no export to grid), capacity 5KWH of LFP cells the price might only cost $4K. They could charge a little more for module/model that could export power to grid.

Even the price of portable storage using LFP is already dropping.

$3,200 ECOFLOW DELTA Pro Portable Home Battery(LiFePO4), 3.6KWh Expandable Portable Power Station, Huge 3600W AC Output, Solar Generator (Solar Panel Not Included), 30A RV plug, For Home Backup, RV, Travel, Outdoor Camping

$4,500 Renogy Solar Generator Portable Home Battery(LiFePO4), 4.8KWh Expandable Portable Power Station,Huge 3500W AC Output, Home Backup, Emergency, Outdoors Camping
https://www.renogy.com/lycan-5000-power-box/

A stationary V2H, solar controller, grid input (but no export to grid), capacity 4-6KWH of LFP cells will be way less than $10K.

High quality server rack batteries at $1500/5kw. Still need the power electronics, but it shows where LFP prices are at

Yup, very good option. The power electronics is not that expensive (less than $1,500).

So today a 5kWh LFP stationary server rack system plus solar controller, 48VDC battery charger from 120VAC ( from grid or V2L), inverter output 4,800W, for less than $3,000.

There's even cheaper options if you are willing to buy direct from the manufacturer at sample prices. You can get cells at around $150 kWh.

I'd recommend the "batteryless" inverters from MPP Solar Max series for off-grid use, as they work without batteries as well so long you have enough solar input, which also means you don't cycle your batteries as much too.

The trick is to max out the solar input with panels, meaning that even on overcast and rainy days you get some energy input, which means you can have a smaller battery. Remember batteries are only storage but are not an energy source, so having as much solar as you can means you have more energy to work with, and more time to run gear directly from solar without touching the battery. Most solar inverters allow up to twice the solar input than they are rated for on the output, with the MPPT being able to regulate that to zero as required by load or battery state of charge.
