Honestly, I would love something like this but not at 50K.

TELO is currently targeting a price of $50K before incentives, with 10,000 contract-manufactured vehicles in 2026.

Yeah, okay. Maybe they can pick up some things from auction when Lucid closes up....

maybe rivian too :D

I'd still think 50 before incentives isn't completely terrible. That contract manufacturing is probably what's killing them on that price. so much depends on the small details of total hp/torque, kwh, charging speeds, etc.

I'd think they'd do best working with golf cart manufacturers vs car manufacturers for the contracting part. At least they'd view it as an opportunity vs more traditional auto manufacturers

Its cute, but I am not sure about designing a car meant for highway speeds, to use the driver compartment as the crumple zone. Will they call it the Orpahnizer, maybe there will be stealth version called the black widow?
Approach angles look awesome though. It could be a popular off roader, if the suspension can handle obstacles.
Maybe its primarily a city truck, for running to the hardware store?

Scale is the biggest issue.

Rivian, if they were building and selling 250,000 units per year, would have a much lower per vehicle cost.

Plus, I heard "manufacturing is hard". Forgot who said that......:ROFLMAO:

Rivian if they were building and selling 50,000 a year would feel at least like they might stay around. I'm not sure how they pull out of where they are now. If part of it is that they're concentrating on the commercial vehicles that may work. But their Q1 2023 production/delivery was below Q4 2022 and given thankgiving + christmas holidays and the general time lost with that it's not a good sign on them scaling up. Still I guess 9k a quarter will make 36,000 for the year if they keep it up. Just not sure how their cash flow is working out.

Rivian has $11 billion in cash. But yes they are burning it pretty fast.

sales/deliveries in 2024 have to be a lot more or the cash crunch will be closing in

trucks are used for everything suv's were used for.. else we wouldn't have trucks with 4' beds that can't really haul anything...

suv's were used for everything the old station wagons were used for
station wagons were used for everything panel vans were used for

so in short.. trucks are used for EVERYTHING except the small car sunday sports drive.. and the cybertruck will change that

People dont buy truck for camping, I've never seen truck at camping site.

If they fix the dent on the door and lower the price, it will sell like hotcakes.

Station wagons make the most sense as EVs. They have a smaller cross section area than most SUVs and trucks yet big enough interior to be a practical utility vehicle. Lot of surface area for solar cells as well. Someone needs to make them cool.

Buick station wagon owners in 1962 had A truck, SUV and a love shack wrapped into one.
