So Daz, good chance we will be meeting up with both of our CT's sometime in late Feb. I hopefully will receive vin by 2/9 and hopefully delivery end of Feb if all works out.

We need to start a NC or Carolina thread for us to keep in touch and get some meet ups. Maybe some offroad trips or coffee/beer gatherings to shoot the sht
For sure bro!! Maybe create a WhatsApp group or something..?

So is seems like vin's about 30 days after ordering so far?

How long after vin is assigned would you think CT is on a transporter to service center? Few days, weeks?
I would not assume that the current VIN assignment have anything to do with order times. It' very possible that Dec 26 starts shipping in a few days.

as far as VIN acquit ion to assigned to vehicle, that still won't be a defined timeline, because production can start and stop dependent on issues. So planned vs actual is left to Mr Murphy to arbitrate.

What I am looking for is the number of VINs per day. To me, that suggests the planned number vehicles per day, or at least the neighborhood. The important thing will be when those numbers start to ramp up, suggesting that production is getting better.

But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Makes sense.

Agree that VINs per day is a good metric. I think where many are coming from is from prior Tesla purchases--once a vin gets assigned, it's typically a few days to maybe 2 weeks before you take possession of your car. and things may be very fluid with CT production timelines, but I bet they have the delivery details nailed down because of all the cars they're used to delivering.

Since you have experience dealing with Tesla and i assume their financing… If i accept the financing offer through the app, am i locked in to that? Or can i switch lenders if i find a better deal?
There is such thing as refinancing. And doable multiple times until the entire koan is paid.

Hi, Anyone from TX can explain how the registration works for company?

Is there any difference for Tesla?
How they know it needs to be registered to company?

Thanks for any help.
etc.
Part of the process is filling up the form on whether this is for personal or business use.

Then another as to who to register it, address etc. And primary and/or secondary registrant.

I'm surprised you missed that.

There have been a number of people who previously indicated that completion was needed.
If you are in an unconstrained period, the concepts may be different. But we are very constrained now and If the VIN assignment folks see one that is "Ready" and one that is "Not Ready" which one do you think that they are going to want to pick. There are hundreds of people ready to pull those vehicles off the lot at an instant.

Your choice. Your risk. Feel free to give me different information and I'll change what people have told me. But what if there's 2% chance that I'm right?

And I have no idea why people even worry about it. Soft hits aren't a big deal, especially when followed up with a confirmation. Are you expecting to buy a house before you get the truck?
I hear ya and still prefer to avoid running multiple credit checks. Ultimately, we’re in for an AWD FS order, so I view this as guaranteed and if I’m skipped over a handful of times, no big deal. I’m confident it doesn’t matter based on my previous Tesla orders. But if I needed the CT yesterday, I would have everything in such as you’re describing.

I've ordered the AWD, submitted registration names, but have not started Tesla financing process. Do you think that would stop the VIN gen/delivery process? I received the invite email on 12/8, but didn't place order until 12/31. Thought I had plenty of time before delivery and did not want to go through finance process a second time. Yeah, no one knows, but just wondering. If they are going to start delivering, maybe I should proceed with the Tesla credit application and loan. Thoughts?
It won't hurt the process for getting your VIN. I was told by a Tesla team member that I can wait to complete financing when I receive my VIN.

Start of production and the holidays added to the delays. I would guess it'll get a lot sooner in the next week or two.
Also just the ramp up itself will lend itself to higher vin counts as number of CT's built increases.

Assignment for VIN has nothing to do with registration of VIN for the purposes some are mentioning. Yes if one wants to see how volume is progressing sure and production.

Once it is assigned I would feel pretty confident in moving forward with financing.

Also Tesla would very much like you to have your financing all done, and or wire prior to delivery. The wire or the system they use for those that pay in cash works this way. One can always refuse delivery on some major issue, but there is no I am going to show up and make you work for the check. The deal is done.
