Less likely to break. Not impossible to break.

The wider wheel offset of those aftermarket wheels increases the length of the lever arm on the suspension linkages, which exerts more force on them than the standard wheels.

That doesn't seem to be the failure point though:
We completed two full days of hardcore driving and had a blast. At the end of day two we had a bolt give out on the Cybertruck. We were going pretty nuts on the truck both days with no concerns whatsoever. As such we’re not concerned with this bolt. Repair is in progress and it is an opportunity for us to learn.

“The best part is no part”. While four wheel steering makes it easier to park at the strip mall, this is the chance you take in making the rear end unnecessarily complex.

It also makes it easier to maneuver off road in tight situations. If monster trucks can run rear wheel steering there is no reason it can't be made beefy enough for the Cybertruck.

Yikes, how much do you think a monster truck costs? And how often do you think (extremely monster trucks get major service done on their steering/suspension? I would just guess it’s quite a bit more than most people would want, or be able to afford to deal with in their personal truck.
I’m definitely not saying that it doesn’t have some advantages. I’m just saying that for everyone who was rooting for rear end steering and a moderately priced truck, well you got a more expensive truck with more expensive repairs designed into the rear end.

The front axle needs to have the same specs. So you don't have to make the rear end a "monster truck" version. But you also don't need to mod it and then abuse it like they did.

It will take some time before people get used to the rear steering idea. I think all cars should have it nd I"e thought that for 30years, since the first mass production 4WS came out. Also reduces rolling resistance.

I hate to break it to you but he rear end needs to be way beefier than the front due to payload. That’s part of the design conundrum.
I am really just making the point that while nice, it adds a good amount of cost and complexity. And if you tend to drive trucks well over 100k miles, with some time spent on gravel roads or off roads, you will have to do some front end maintenance. Ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. Well now there’s twice as many ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.
I just wish it was optional. That way we could have stayed closer to original pricing, with a less nimble, but more durable truck.

How much do you think 2 steering knuckles, tie rods, and a steering rack costs Tesla?
Way less than they would charge you for it.
Affordability, durability, agility. Pick any two. Or maybe just one.

How much do you think ball joints and tie rods cost? I think you're really blowing the cost way out of proportion.
I said that in terms of complexity, eventual maintenance, and points of failure. But I doubt it’s cheap either.

What a way of asking for trouble. Tesla should not cover for the damage you recklessly cause to your own truck. I saw the way you drive, more abusive than normal off-road.
Its not liked they showed it doing a tractor pull or drag racing while towing or anything
